2020-2021 Hofstra (Zucker)

I feel like it depends on when your interview is scheduled for. Mine was scheduled for February so I felt like I had little to lose resetting but still re-setted early in the morning (like 6AM) a few times when I figured not many people would be on. I was able to re-schedule to next week!
Yeah mine is in Feb. I want an earlier one if possible

When you reset, if there is nothing sooner than your original date available, can you simply reschedule your original date?

Yes you can, which is what I did a few times because nothing else was open- you should just do it quickly because the risk is that someone may be on at the same time and take your slot, and you'll have to re-schedule even later. Though, I think the likelihood of that happening is rather low since someone would have to be on at the same second and there'd have to be no other slots left on your original date.

Maybe do it at like 4am or something lol.

Does anyone know if the portal message "Your application is complete and in the review process" is just the default, or is my app actually under review now?

It's the default when you submit your app and everything is complete. I mean technically it's under review, but it doesn't mean that someone is literally picking up and reading your application as we speak.

Anyone who interviewed in October or earlier get a decision email since Dec. 1st?

Last years thread first acceptance was on Dec 12th so maybe we'll hear back this week 🤷‍♂️

Anyone who interviewed in October or earlier get a decision email since Dec. 1st?
I interviewed here a few weeks ago and they said we would hear back by the holidays

how many weeks after we interview do decisions usually come back?
I think it really depends. Zucker hasn't released any decisions yet, but now that we're into the time frame where they can release them I would say 6-8 weeks is always a safe bet.

I interviewed on the first interview day in September and they said we would probably hear back around the second week of December.

are thank you notes discouraged? if not, should we upload them to documents or email them directly to our interviewers?

At the interview this morning, they just said that those who interviewed earlier should hear back "before the holidays" and those interviewing today should hear back "anywhere between January and March"
Hoping to hear back in December, but not super optimistic since I was a November interviewee. A person can dream... Thank you for sharing!

I got the impression that it would be just before the holidays, so I think we have a week or two to go!

Originally scheduled for February and was able to reschedule my interview for mid-January! My VITA was pretty normal/average, has anyone who interviewed also felt meh about the VITA portion? Worried that will set me back.

LOL thank you! It felt so bizarre to me, glad i'm not alone in that regard.
Definitely not- Also at the interview session a few days ago the director of admissions made a point of saying she understood it's a pretty unnatural experience for a lot of people, so hopefully that'll be taken into consideration in the review process.

Feeling very clowned today. Expected a decision email
I remember one of the people in admissions said something like "it will hopefully be a nice surprise for the holidays" which made me feel like it would be shortly before Christmas? Although who knows.

My ex-gf said something similar. She proceeded to break up with me shortly after 😂

So do schools not reject post interview? I feel like I only ever see people posting waitlists dejectedly in a lot of med school threads

Some do, some don't. Some schools will WL their students into different priority tiers and if you're not in the top tier it's essentially a rejection.

Hofstra has a winter break from Dec. 18 - Jan 2 according to the academic calendar. Not sure if the admissions office follows those same breaks but if they do, I hope they send out decisions before the 18th
