You’re right! I did the best I could given allllllllllll the circumstances. Maybe 2022 will have some good news.

During First Friday, one HUCM student said she was complete in October/November and still got in, so that keeps me hopeful too.

Are we required to wear business attire for the first Frida. I am asking because I will be at work that time and I don't if my work uniform will be appropriate for the meeting.

If my memory serves me correct, most if not all were dressed in business casual. I had on a shirt, tie, blazer and basketball shorts. I wouldn't wear basketball shorts on the actual interview day though.

I was at work as well. I did not turn on my camera. There were honestly so many people and quite a few with their camera off. The ones with their cameras on did have business casual for the most part.
 
Has anyone gotten an Interview Invite who applied beginning/mid October yet?

Just trying to see if they started moving down the stack yet. lol

Would you just assume we’re waitlisted at this point? Considering that they told us we would hear back by 11/25 and that at least 2 other people from that date have already been accepted...

I don't think we are WL'd just yet. Maybe they accepted people with higher stats to see if they would accept or decline that offer. If they decline, then that gives them reason to accept the people that haven't heard back. This is just MY thinking.

normally i wouldnt trip after only a week! especially since the interview went so well! but then i saw somebody post that they were approaching their 120 class size and since people from our date already got A's, i thought the worst lol

I bet you there will be lots of movement. That will open up spots for the people that have already interviewed but haven't gotten WL or an R. We are just in limbo right now. And don't they release decisions on Thursdays usually? We might get lucky today.

Hang tight! Not everyone who gets in will attend. I know several people who didn’t get an interview last cycle until Feb/March and still got in or waitlisted and then STILL got in. Reaching a class size means nothing until a commitment in April!

Yeah I know. I’m just tired of this waiting game and wanted my acceptance now 😂 but I know I need to chill

I believe so. It’s just kinda shocking that they’re already at capacity. I thought we were still considered “early.” Good luck to you and I’ll let you know if I hear anything today!

For those who attended First Friday, what should I expect? was it more of an interactive session or a webinar?

I called them about half an hour ago and left message and they sent me the link via email shortly. It says not to forward the link so I am assuming it is individual link to track attendance? not sure. I would just reach out to them.

Let’s keep this forum positive for yourself and for others. Speak/pray it into existence. Most schools this year are behind. Even though the class may be full at Howard at the moment, does not mean that every student will decide to commit but decide to go elsewhere. The fact is they are still interviewing, there’s traditionally a lot of waitlist movement, and I promise you, you want them to review you holistically and that takes time. Patience is key, my friend!

It always fills by Dec/Jan and then ppl are waitlisted after that and then there’s movement as accepted students decide if they want to go to Howard or another school (if they have more than one A)

That’s what I heard too! I didn’t hear the class was filled by them. I saw it in this forum though.

Yo! They weren’t talking about this year. That was last year’s stats. I got scared too. That was Fall 2020 stats.
 
Hey, everyone! Posting to help keep people's minds at ease. There was an interview on 12/02 and when I received my email about a month ago, there were two other dates about a week out from that. During the interview, they said that the class is filling up but there are still spots left. They reviewed all? dates up until the interview on the day before Thanksgiving. So, based on what I was told/my understanding, the class isn't full yet. Even when it is "full," they assured everyone that being waitlisted is not a death wish because of waitlist movement. Appreciate the point. I was joking though lol...Howard isn't my first choice. Wouldn't mind going though especially if my first choice didn't work out but just a little comic relief.
 
I kinda gave up on attending First Friday today. I literally feel like there's nothing I can do that can show Howard that I'm interested in them (maybe they just aren't interested in me lol) I Have attended two first Friday's so far in this cycle, got an mcat 510+, 3.5 GPA and zilch from Howard. I know its a competitive cycle but its so demoralizing bc its one of my top choices lol. Anyways, done with my soapbox, just wanted to vent. Good luck everyone!!
 
so even if they WL the rest of the applicants after the class is "full", do those applicants actually get WL notifications? or are they placed on a proverbial "waitlist" and get acceptance offers as other previously accepted students decline offers? hoping this makes sense
