Any current Rush students on this thread know how many of your classmates are current HPSP students (none, few, lots?)
Email 😉Do they call or email for final decisions?
Thank you!!Sorry I missed this! Depends on the suburb and depends on whether you have a car. I would say that commuting by public transportation from a suburb is both cost-ineffective and inconvenient. However, some Rush faculty members live in Oak Park, which is only a 15-20min drive from Rush.
Personally, given my past jobs, I knew I wanted to 1) take public transportation 2) keep my commute to under 45 minutes and 3) have zero transfers so I'd minimize unexpected delays and waiting in the cold. Right now my commute is ~15 minutes using 1 bus from West Town.
But at the end of the day, map out possible commutes from different neighborhoods on Google Maps and see what you're comfortable with! Everyone's living preferences are different.
Correct- that comes later with the CYMS tool+1!! Paying the $100 is just to hold a spot in the class but not to commit to RMC right?

Thanks for the hope!hi all, current student at Rush and just wanted to say that I don’t think Rush does silent rejections so don’t lose hope even if you were complete early! I was complete early July when I applied and didn’t hear from Rush until late January, interviewed on one of the last days available and got accepted without being waitlisted first!
Just be patient and good luck! 🙂
Thank you for some much needed hopehi all, current student at Rush and just wanted to say that I don’t think Rush does silent rejections so don’t lose hope even if you were complete early! Last year, there was 0 waitlist movement reported on the thread. And, my friend who is an m1 said (there was almost no waitlist movement). But each year is different!Does anyone know how Rush approaches their waitlist? Is everyone on the waitlist re-evaluated throughout the process or do they wait until March to accept off the waitlist?
+1 baby!!Got an A via email today! Interviewed 12/9.
Last year, there was absolutely zero movement, from Active Consideration and Waitlist.Does anyone know how Rush approaches their waitlist? Is everyone on the waitlist re-evaluated throughout the process or do they wait until March to accept off the waitlist?
Hey, congrats! Interviewed the same day. No news yet on my side. Do you think I should be worried? Do you know if they send out all the decisions for that date out on the same day?Got an A via email today! Interviewed 12/9.
I also didn’t hear back from that date. I am wondering if they didn’t have time before the holiday to meet about everyone? I’m hoping they aren’t waiting to give the waitlist people the news after the holiday haha. I’ve considered all options.Hey, congrats! Interviewed the same day. No news yet on my side. Don't quote me on this (and if someone else can chime in to confirm that would be great), but I think you do have to pay the $100 to hold your spot in the class. I also think it's refundable and non-binding, meaning that you don't need to commit to Rush just yet (I think committing to one particular med school has to happen by March/April).Hi everyone!! Quick question: so I was accepted a few months ago, but I haven’t paid the $100 yet. Do I have to in order to hold my spot? If I don’t paid it, will they give my spot away? I haven’t decided on Rush yet as I’m still yet to hear from like 20 of the schools I applied to.
+1!Interview invite just now!
Completed in late July. Interview dates open for January.
Congrats! Mind sharing when you were complete?
I got my II at around 10:15a.congrats, wishing you all luck on the interviews.
Are you getting them at varied times or are the II being sent out once per day? Asking so I can put my phone down after a certain time and get on with my day.
Do they have more than one waitlist? What does priority waitlist mean?Just got the email today, I was placed on the priority waitlist. Sad, but not terribly sad since they say I am under active consideration. Will wait it out.
What day in July did you guys submit your secondary?Interview invite just now!
Completed in late July. Interview dates open for January.
Wow congrats! May i ask your stats?Interview invite just now!

Yeah im wondering the same because i was waitlisted but it does not mention "priority" waitlist, just an unranked waitlistDo they have more than one waitlist? What does priority waitlist mean?
Yes, why do you ask?Congrats! are you by chance URM?
I thought the overall experience was very chill and relaxed. They do a good job of making sure you aren't too stressed or anxious. Two 30 minute interviews - one is a 2 on 1 and the other is just a 1 on 1. Both are open file. The 2 on 1 was a bit more serious and they asked some deeper questions. The 1 on 1 was very conversational, we even talked about one of the sports I played for almost 10 minutes of the interview lol.How is the Rush interview experience? Was it open or closed? Any tips or can someone provide their experience? Thanks

Mine was 2 faculty members! The 2 on 1 is the situational interview. They asked questions like "if XYZ situation happened, how would you respond?"Thank you si much for your response.
Can you please elaborate a little more on the 2 on 1 interview? Was it 2 faculty? And what do you mean by more serious questions?
Mine was actually one faculty and one student here! So a bit different than the other poster. And yes it’s called a situational interview, although tbh, I didn’t have many “if this happens, what would you do” questions. Mine was more like asking my thoughts on a few concepts/ideas, an ethical question and asking if I had any application updatesThank you si much for your response.

I was complete at around the same time, and it's been a real nail biter; if you don't mind, what are your stats/ties?II yesterday! OOS, complete Aug 26
