To all those that received the R: I’m sorry y’all won’t be in this class but I’m sending good vibes y’all’s way. TCU is the only school that has offered me an interview, so I am proof it only takes one....

+2! Dude, you've got three Texas MD schools who have not yet given you a final answer. I FORBID you from giving up hope yet! And if it comes to 3 rejections, you are still going to be a doctor because of your DO acceptances. Chin up, and know there are LOTS of people cheering you on, including some you haven't even met! Most outspoken optimistic guy*
I promise there are bunch of people on here rooting for ya from a far!
Lol major facts hahahaha. I always forget about the DO schools, because I’m consumed with fear of leaving my family again....but you’re totally correct!!!+2! +1Pre-II R. OOS. Complete 10/1.
Crushed would be an understatement.
Tbh just know yourself and about how you feel about community ethics and the mission of the school. Also do some self care and make sure you're in a good mood and not too stressed for your interview. It was so much chiller than I was expectinginterviewing here in a couple weeks... does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do to prepare for the interview?
Wholeheartedly agree with all of this.Tbh just know yourself and about how you feel about community ethics and the mission of the school. Also do some self care and make sure you're in a good mood and not too stressed for your interview. It was so much chiller than I was expecting
I'd also highly recommend going to the pre-interview social with current students. Everyone I met was kind, helpful, and very willing to answer questions.interviewing here in a couple weeks... does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do to prepare for the interview?
I was thinking the same thing, it seems only logical that admissions would be on the back-burner for now. If there are any current students on here, or admissions folks, are you all ok? Seems like a pretty big crisis and I hope everyone is safeDo we think they'll be sending out decisions today? Texas is in a really rough spot but I don't know how Fort Worth has been this week specifically. I know that even the hospitals in Austin and Houston have had water and power issues.
Thank you for thinking of our SOM community! It has been a difficult week for our city, but we have made it through the worst of it. Many of us are fortunate to have our power restored and pipes thawing at this time. Committee will meet today. Is the pre-interview social informal? How does it work - are there breakout rooms or is it like a panel of current students? Thanks for the advice!!Wholeheartedly agree with all of this.

Totally informal. No one dressed up. In ours, we all started in one big zoom room. Each current student had a breakout room, and the students acting as moderators put a few applicants with each current student, then rotated us. I feel like that took a lot of stress off -- asking questions to one person with 1/2 other applicants there, as opposed to addressing everyone. I was able to meet and chat with 4 or 5 current students, and even after the allotted time was up, they all stayed to answer lingering questions. It was low-key and informative, and I left with a great impression of the school. Is the pre-interview social informal? I believe the last date I saw was in early April.Does anyone know how long this school is interviewing until? Haven’t caught a pre-II R or II yet so not sure what to think!
They sent us our financial aid via the secondary portal, if you were accepted. How do financial aid offers work at this school? I filled out my fafsa back on the first day
I received a save the date for the virtual second look weekend in April, but nothing else that we have to ‘do’ other than accept the offer in the portal!@ accepted students, have you received anything other than the admission offer? I accepted on the portal but haven't received any further info so I just wanted to make sure we were all on the same boat

No you cannotHi I had a question about the logistics of the interview, I know there's not much that can be said about the interview, so ignore this if it is one of the questions that cannot be answered, are students allowed to take notes during the two minute preparation of reading the prompt before the corresponding station? Thanks guys
