philly cheese steakIs it okay to write "Philly" in the secondaries. Not sure if that is formal enough. Philadelphia is quite a long word.

Ope didn’t see that. Agreed thenThe person said they figured it out... why is this argument continuing
TypedSilly question but does anyone know if the writing activity is written or typed? I would assume typed but just want to be sure. Also are we really expected to eat lunch during the breakout session? I would feel so self-conscious haha
That is really helpful to know. Not all schools use CASPer. Some are just collecting data to determine how they want to integrate it into their admissions process.Just had my interview! Everyone was super nice and welcoming (except for my one interviewer who absolutely grilled me and didn't seem satisfied with any of my answers). One helpful bit of information I picked up was that they use CASPer to help determine who gets interviews, but it's not of great importance after that.
You can’t tell status (as in “under review”, “hold”, etc) from the portal. So how do you tell what your status is based on the portal? Its kinda hard to understand, all I see is the submitted application and some directions, it does not say under review anywhere. Am I doing something wrong?

It has to be completed prior to your interview. Is there a deadline for VITA to be completed after receiving an II? (e.g. within 2 weeks)

Depends if you're morning or afternoon. But there is a writing activity, two interviews, and some info sessions. They try to keep things moving along which is really nice.Is the interview day filled continuously with activities or are there breaks in between? Can anyone who has had an interview give a run down of what happens?
This is what it said in my LKSOM Interview Day e-mail from Maria Zimmerman.Where did you get this information? I completed it a day after my interview and know others who did the same.

did you email medadmissions@temple or the medinterview email? Not sure if there is a consensus, n=1... but I sent my thank you notes to admissions and asked them to forward them to my interviewers. I also included an application update. They responded kindly and said that they did forward the message and my update was added to my file. I think that was probably okay because I couldn't find specifics on their website or last year's thread.
i never saw a specified date to complete for the VITA as well.Huh, mine said that VITA was required but didn't give a deadline. Hopefully I wasn't too late! Decisions don't come out until December so at least they should have plenty of time to review my video.

they must have added that after. i did not have that line in my email.I didn’t get a specific date. But it said this below.
“This year, the AAMC created the Video Interview Tool for Admissions (VITA). An email is sent from HireVue when an applicant is invited to interview. Applicants will complete the VITA once during the current interview cycle. If LKSOM was your first interview invitation, shortly after you were invited, you should have received an email from HireVue to complete the AAMC Video Interview Assessment Tool (VITA). If LKSOM was not your first interview invitation, and you already completed the AAMC VITA, you will not receive an email to complete another one. Please complete the VITA prior to your interview day.”

I don’t think it’s going to be that big of a deal, especially if that line wasn’t in your e-mails. Even if it was in your e-mails, it still would have been easy to miss tbh. I only just caught it the other day.I did not have that line either.
wing it lol dont waste your time to prepare for it.For anyone who interviewed already can you explain what the writing activity entails? like is it a formal essay that you need to study or prepare or is it more of something you can wing it?
The admissions office forwarded mineWhat’s the protocol for sending thank you’s to interviewers here? Is it discouraged?
Which email did you send them to?The admissions office forwarded mine
Did you write your thank you note in the email itself or was it an attached PDF to the email? Not sure which would be better if admissions is forwarding it to the interviewer. The admissions office forwarded mine
