Did anyone prepare for the SPE?
Whats the SPE?
Standardized patient encounter. You do it the week of your interview and it's supposed to give adcoms a better idea of how you interact with patients/peers and stuff
Crazy how i never heard about this until now. is info about it contained in your interview invite email?
Interview invite received today. Complete 7/30.
for people who are interviewing this week, did you receive any email on how to access the interview (zoom link? interviewer's names? timing of interviews?)
LM 76, Texas resident.Would you mind sharing your stats please?
It hasn’t for me either :/Has A&M appeared on anyone's rank list in the TMDSAS portal? I interviewed a couple of weeks ago and it's still not there, whereas other schools are.
My first II invite received two days ago! MD/PhD applicant OOS ORM.
Awesome! Could you please share your stats and completion dates?
LizzyM statmaybe a dumb question., but what stat are you guys referring to when you state "70's"
I think up to 9/24.Does anybody know how far out they have scheduled out interviews so far?
congrats! when were you complete?II received today!! (EnMed)
LizzyM 68. Re-applicant. 1000+ clinical hours.
II Received!!!!!
The SPE is virtual, right? Are y'all wearing your suit/interview clothes for the SPE?
Yes!The SPE is virtual, right?
just went through last years thread and looks like they offered around 20 or so prematch offers on Oct 15th. Maybe throw on 10 more prematch offers for the people who dont use SDN. Dont know if that qualifies as prematch heavy or not lolDoes anyone know how pre-match heavy Texas A&M is? I have heard both that they initially try to fill all their seats with pre-match slots and others say that they dont pre-match that much.
If you interview after Oct. 15th can you still prematch?just went through last years thread and looks like they offered around 20 or so prematch offers on Oct 15th. Maybe throw on 10 more prematch offers for the people who dont use SDN. Dont know if that qualifies as prematch heavy or not lol
Yes. You qualify to prematch if you interview before January 31st this cycle. Any interview after that date, you can’t prematch. Prematch is from October 15th-Jan 31st.If you interview after Oct. 15th can you still prematch?
I would say A&M is on the heavy side based on what I’ve seen, now you can still match and this is just from what I have gathered and I haven’t seen any raw data from the adminDoes anyone know how pre-match heavy Texas A&M is? I have heard both that they initially try to fill all their seats with pre-match slots and others say that they dont pre-match that much.
Do you know if the prematch timeline was pushed back at all this cycle?Yes. You qualify to prematch if you interview before January 31st this cycle. Any interview after that date, you can’t prematch. Prematch is from October 15th-Jan 31st.
The last cycle prematch period was from Oct 15th-Dec 31st. This cycle they just extended it one month, so Oct15th-Jan31st to accommodate for the pushed back interview schedules, so its only extended instead of pushed back.Do you know if the prematch timeline was pushed back at all this cycle?
interviewed 9/3 still not on the rank list. IS this the case for anyone else?
I did this last year while everything was in person so I don’t know if it’ll all translate, but here’s my experience with it.Does anybody have any tips for how to prepare for the SPE? Is it something we can can even prepare for or is it best to just to be ourselves?
Thank you! Glad it is nothing medically-related lolI did this last year while everything was in person so I don’t know if it’ll all translate, but here’s my experience with it.
Honestly, it was one of the highlights of my entire interview season. You aren’t required to know anything medical related (which is a relief because I wasn’t in med school yet) but they will throw you into a situation and ask you about your morals/ask for guidance. I know I was nervous going into it and I shouldn’t have been because it was a fun social challenge! It’s nothing you can’t handle, you’ve got this 🙂
Congrats!!! When were you completeII rn
Congrats! A&M's EnMed program seems incredible!II today for EnMed! Overjoyed 😊
Has anybody who has qualified for EnMed also gotten a regular MD interview?
7/5 my b for late responseCongrats!!! When were you complete
When you interview for EnMed, you are interviewing for both. If they turn someone down for EnMed they will ask if they want to stay in contention for regular.II today for EnMed! Overjoyed 😊

Oh, thanks! Is that info published anywhere? When you interview for EnMed, you are interviewing for both. If they turn someone down for EnMed they will ask if they want to stay in contention for regular.
Please check last year's thread. You can also confirm with A&M that there is no separate regular vs EnMed interview.Oh, thanks! Is that info published anywhere?
