OOS applicant here. I interviewed last week but is it safe to say that as an OOS that I shouldn’t expect to hear anything for at least a couple months? Do they accept some OOS mixed in with the heavy IS majority rn?

I interviewed two months ago as an OOS and have heard nothing.

I would say it's common for Texas schools. Most don't let us know anything until actual match day.

I mean, maybe? The two other TX schools I interviewed at gave me a decision within 2 weeks. But of course, I am not familiar with the remaining TX schools. Also, consider that the match is for in-state students only so OOS students don't have the comfort of knowing they'll at least hear in March. I totally understand if Lubbock doesn't want me (I mean my application is pretty meh lol) but it seems like no OOS students have heard yet despite interviewing as early as August, which I maintain is frustratingly peculiar.

Last year, some OOS heard back on 10/15 and then some more in early November. Fingers crossed!

Chill! I'd want you as my classmate if I'm in Lubbock 🙂

Hi everyone! I got an II earlier today (first of the cycle). Any and all advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance

Know what you wrote on your ECs, secondaries, and personal statement. You will be golden. It's very conversational. Best of luck m8!

Yeah I think it can be pretty variable with which interviewer you get, but one constant is at least one ethical question with each interview. I think they're required to ask you a pre-written ethical question.

i loved my interviewers. as long as you can elaborate what you wrote on your app you’ll be fine. they try hard to keep you comfortable, don’t be anxious or stressed! best of luck 🙂

For those of y’all who have already interviewed, when you emailed your thank you letters did the admissions office acknowledge they received them? I haven’t gotten an acknowledgement and I’m worried I sent it to the wrong email or something.

I didn't get an acknowledgement that they received it. Take a breath, friend.

We had to send the thank you letters to the admissions office? I sent mine directly to my interviewers since they provided me with their emails. This is okay right?

If they gave you their email, then it's totally fine. If they didn't, they said you could send to their admissions office and they would direct your thank you letter to your interviewers. Breath, friend. It'll be okay.

Hi everyone!

I have an interview soon, and I was wondering if anyone can provide any tips? Anything is helpful, thank you 🙂

Review ethics! Guaranteed to come up but don't worry too much bc the questions are pretty standard. Make sure you can speak articulately about the multiple sides of any issue factoring in things like patient autonomy, doing no harm, legal regulations, etc.

Hi there! Sorry if this has already been asked, but do y'all know if the $100 placement guarantee fee (as part of the prematch offer) is non-refundable?

My interviewer said she could tell I already knew the answer to my assigned question so she made one up on the spot, so I think that might be a good thing (?) but also goes to show some of the interviewers will do their own thing.

I'm blessed to have been offered an interview invite 2 weeks ago! Anyone have any stats regarding post interview acceptances for in-state?

Does anyone know if any group messages or Facebook groups have started for those accepted? 🙂
Those usually start up after Match Day because, for all you know, things can change by then.

Pre-matched yesterday!!!! OMG first acceptance, I still am in disbelief. Congrats to everyone else on this thread getting offers and interviews, I wish everyone the best!! Hang in there, take a deep breath, and keep moving forward 🙂

Also,
I am IS, interviewed in October, and LM 73
Mind sharing what day you interviewed? Trying to predict when I could potentially get mine.

In regards to the Facebook group idea, the Facebook groups are actually managed by the Student Government of the preceding class until officers for the class of 2025 are selected.

So the officers for the class of 2024 will be making a Facebook group for the class of 2025 here in the near future, and they will most likely post here when they have one up and running.

How are officers chosen? Just volunteer for the spot?
