2020-2021 Toledo

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Someone posted here that Toledo told them they would start sending out interviews (regular MD) in 1-2 weeks last week so I think that means Toledo hasn’t started yet. Keep in mind like what others have said, Toledo has said this four or five times now.

Toledo is giving me trust issues

Can also confirm from a few people at Toledo that they’ve been doing interviews since beginning of December for their MedStart and Bacc2Med applicants. Just not traditional MD applicants as far as I’m aware.

Yes, but students in these two early programs are currently interviewing for next year's incoming class of Fall 2022.

I’ve been told that they’re for admission to class of 2025, at lease for the Bacc2Med applicants for sure.

Really? Unless they changed things, from my understanding admission for class of 2025 was conducted last year through Bacc2Med already. The whole program gives juniors a gaurenteed interview with Toledo. In fact, two of my friends were accepted last year for this year's incoming class (Fall 2021). Also, my friend's sister had her interview with the med school last week through the program, she's a junior currently and interviewed for a seat for next year's incoming class (class of 2026).

Yeah and that could be true, just from my understanding MedStart is next years class but Bacc2Med I thought interviewed at the same time as regular MD admission. I was also just kinda expecting them to fill next years class before worrying about the start of 2022. Thanks for clarifying though!

Hahaha, that would be the logical course of action! Who knows what Toledo's doing...

Wondering how they're gonna send out IIs now that many people have already gotten As. Seems like they are gonna have to send out more than usual with more As (and faster turnaround) to fill the class. but damn already 2021 and still silent.has anyone recently contacted them?

Bruh we been said this, where've you been?

Basically:
Multiple people have contacted them and for months they've continued to respond that interview invites will be sent 1-2 weeks.
MedStart applicants have received interview invites held on zoom.
They will likely need to send a lot of IIs very quickly with high A %s given than many applicants will already have other offers by now.
In general no one knows anything.

Now you're all caught up 🙂

Thank you lol!! Makes sense

just lurking... still no II's?
well it's the end of the week... guess we'll see again next week lol?

Unless someone hasn't spoken up, no one who is on SDN has received an II (I think MedStart applicants might've, but they're not in the regular pool). I doubt only non-SDN users have received IIs lol, so I think it's safe to say the answer is no.

Man this virtual interview platform better be an MMORPG or something like that given all the time they've had 😆 Maybe we all have to fight raid bosses and only those who survive get accepted?
gonna grind 99 interview skills for this

Well, if they contracted out to EA games that could explain why it's not up and running yet. We will all get offered interviews but then have to purchase DLC in order to access each MMI station.

When that doesn't work, they'll just lose out to Ubisoft. There's always a bigger fish.

Well, I mean at this point..... What is everyone's favorite games to play? Currently, I'm into Genshin Impact!

I just bought some games during the last Steam sale. So naturally I'm playing the free-to-play version of The Old Republic.

cyberpunk has lived up to my expectations personally. dota is ever present in the rotation as well
Cyberpunk is fine on consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) now but when it launched it was pretty bad in my opinion. I liked the story though especially the Nomad path.

I'm mostly a switch guy--Zelda Breath Of The Wild was a great quarantine time sink. More recently I played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: red rescue team (originally on GameBoy) and it restored the joy of my youth until I remembered about the app cycle again! Highly recommend

I'll add to this, my favorite genre is horror and I've played anything from Dead space to RE to Evil Within and Alien Isolation. All of these are great and the best RE (Resident-Evil) is in my opinion the second Resident Evil Remake. I also like the occasional awesome Star Wars game like the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the most recent Jedi: The Fallen Order. I am looking forward to RE Village (8) and a sequel to Star Wars: The Fallen Order.

PMD holds such a special place in my heart!! Believe me, I was so stoked when they announced a remake on the Switch, I never thought it would actually happen. BOTW’s also a great game. 😀

Hey y'all, just a lowly CA applicant who probably had no business applying here lol. But it led me to one of my favorite threads on SDN and for that I'm grateful. You guys are so funny and resilient, and I just wanted to say that when Toledo wakes up and starts sending IIs, they're gonna have an amazing group of beautiful souls in their hands.

As for games, I'm currently obsessed with Genshin Impact and would love to play with y'all if you're on there as well haha.

Ahhhh, that game is so good, I love its resemblance to BOTW! Hit me up if you ever wanna co-op!

Hi everyone! While we still haven't been given exact dates of when regular MD interviews will be sent out, we have been told that the admissions committee is meeting later this month. Hopefully we will get more information about their most current plan at that point.

We also want you to know that we see and understand your frustration. We know how stressful waiting to hear back from schools can be. Thank you for your patience - keep hanging in there!

Also side note: YES to wellness time spent playing video games (big fan of zelda and pokemon!)

They haven’t even told the official student ambassadors. Bruh moment

So wait...they might not be coming any time in the next several weeks then?! What a train wreck. I feel bad for the current and future students affected by this incompetence

I think it means that the ambassadors won’t know their plan for a few weeks but interviews could still happen before then. I’m not entirely sure tho

omg what happened to the "1-2 weeks" whenever anyone contacted them

It seems to me that "the admissions committee is meeting later this month" means either interviews will need to happen next week or early the following week if the committee is discussing who to admit, or committee will meet to decide who to invite, and then IIs will come out early Feb... maybe.

My opinion carries no weight! This is just how I understood the message.

Could be wrong but I don't think they would send interviews out before admissions committee meets later this month

Wouldn’t it depend on who makes the decision to interview? Like some schools (UW, Quinnipiac?) don’t need a specific admission committee meeting to send an interview invite out, but use one to determine A’s.
The better question: will we have a new president/administration before theres an II from Toledo?

Maybe the Senate moonlights as the Toledo admissions committee, and they don’t reconvene until the 19th, at which point they’ll need to decide if Trump is guilty... so no IIs until then. the theory adds up 👀
