Are there any threads here where people discuss their research of a school as they prep for interviews. I believe that it will be a valuable resource.
Not necessary, here is the general rule:
1. Go through your app, know the ins and outs and be prepared to answer questions about your experiences
2. Visit the school’s SDN interview feedback page (Past questions and such) and practice answering those Qs
3. Explore the school’s website and identify 2-4 things that attract you to the school (is there a specific program or opportunity at that school not found elsewhere?). Some people also suggest MSAR, I rarely use it though.
4. (optional but recommended) Do mock interviews with friends/Health professions office/faculty etc... and see how your responses come out.
Important TIPS:
-Know the three common questions: why medicine, tell me about yourself and why this school.
-Practice saying your answers out loud, maybe in front of a camera. DONT memorize your answers, have bullet points (2-4 ideas) you‘d like to touch on.
-Treat the interview like a conversation. Be confident, Don’t flex too hard. You are there because they see potential.
Hope this helps and good luck!!
