Anyone prematched from Nov 13th? I haven't seen or heard any and there is a lot of prematches before and after this interview date.. did they not like any of us? lol
For the sake of compiling information, I also interviewed on the 13th and am wondering the same thing. Maybe interviewing on Friday the 13 wasn't the best idea haha.

interviewed the 13th too! nothing back as well!

Lol i think im not getting in.. 🙁 oh well there is always next year

Hey man, best of luck to you and appreciate the well wishes. You never know, match can surprise you. Going to do my due diligence and check out UTMB on their campus day but signs are most likely pointing towards me going to McGovern so there's one extra spot. And I'm sure a ton of more people are going to be in similar situations.

It's not over till it's over!

Is there an established facebook group for admitted students yet?

Does anyone have any interview advice? Did it seem relaxed and conversational? Would appreciate some tips!!

Hour long interview. The questions go by really fast so be prepared with a lot of things to talk about or expand on things on your application to fill in the time.

When I interviewed, we were talking about the weather for a good 10 minutes lol. I know it’s pretty bad haha.

It was pretty relaxed. They're not out to get you - they want to get to know you. We ended up talking about Rush (the band, not the greek process) in one of mine!

Honestly, the SDN interview prep feedback page can help out a lot. I also worked through TPR's 50 common interview questions. Whatever you use, think about real experiences and people in your life, not hypotheticals.

Wow y’all lucked out, mine were mostly serious and focused. Not out to get you either, but definitely barely went off topic...

My first one only asked me like 2 questions & then we talked for the rest about random things. 2nd one was more structured but definitely still conversational! Super chill lol

My first interviewer was a hoot. We were laughing so much that afterward my sister asked me if I was in an interview or talking to a friend. I definitely believe they simply want to see if you are personable. Focus on allowing your personality to shine. Loosen up, don’t seem rehearsed, feel comfortable talking about your background. The only time I gave much strategic thought to my answers was to respond to the two mandatory questions (which my interviewers didn’t even want to ask). And right after that it was back to breezy conversation.

Hi guys! I applied this cycle and prematched at utrgv and utmb. Im a Texas resident but I did an out of state post bac so my adviser isn’t much help with Texas specific questions. This might seem like a stupid question, but in order to match somewhere, you have to receive an interview invite by the end of January, correct? So if I don’t receive any other interview invites, then I would have no purpose in the match? And it seems like January invites are already full in most schools

Well you would have a purpose in the match because you definitely still need to rank all the schools you’ve interviewed at, INCLUDING your prematches. The match makes things “official”.

No, your purpose in the Match will be to select which of the two schools you'll attend and rank it higher, letting the other seat go to someone else and coming out with that top school as your only acceptance. It won't be a mystery what happens on match day, but there is a purpose. Also, a few schools are interviewing into February so while unlikely, it's still possible you'll get one more interview.

If all stays the same and you don't receive anymore interviews, definitely make sure you rank the prematches you have by the rank deadline, otherwise you will lose acceptances to both schools if you don't submit a ranking.

You still need to rank all TX schools you interviewed (including two schools with prematched) with in TMDSAS application if not you will loss all of prematched offers.

To those who prematched, did you do anything additional besides accepting the admission?

Not really, since they don't have a deposit fee I just clicked on accept offer
In a similar vein, if I pre-matched and am out of state, I won't have to rank anything right? I don't participate in the matching process?

Correct, you will not receive a pre-match offer but rather a standard offer of admission (basically identical to AMCAS admissions offers). No OOS students participate in the match, therefore, they do not receive pre-matches and are not eligible to submit a rank list for the match.

Awesome, thanks! Just want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row.

Wait what forms lol
On the offer letter, it says "Because the clearance takes time to process, it is essential that you fill it out within two weeks of receiving this offer and return it to the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions promptly.", for the Department of Criminal Justice forms for clearance. Im pretty sure its for only matriculating students, but idk I just did it in case.

@wysdoc do you have any insight?

On the website theres a "i got in what do i do now" thing that gives you instructions w the forms. They include the white coat form, clearance, and i think 1 other form that i can't remember off the top of my head.

Because of all those forms, I am thinking only matriculating students have to do it. The 2 weeks that altura mentioned is most likely due to them using the same acceptance form fir both prematched applicants and match day applicants.

Same, I am just neurotic though LOL

I ultimately ended up turning them in. I do not believe the forms are binding so you are right they probably don't process them until they solidify their class from match.
