2020-2021 UT Southwestern

Hi everyone. I really want to go here and would totally attend if they offered me admission. I interviewed back in September and haven't heard back anything since.
For context my stats are 4.0/524, decent ECs, In state, I thought the interview went amazingly well. I haven't been given a pre-match offer. I know these guys give a ton of prematches, and some of my friends have already gotten in. Should I be worried about my chances for match/waitlist?
My thinking is that since my stats are way above their median they might have had some very compelling reason not to give me a prematch offer, and my chances in Spring are basically 0. Maybe I'm just being neurotic/paranoid, but I feel like most of the people who get in through spring have worse stats but more compelling ECs, I don't know.

With those stats you are bound to have many options! I don't think that any of us could tell you for sure either way. I wouldn't lose hope about the spring/match just yet. It is still early and we still have 2 whole months of the prematch window left. I don't think you should feel bad about being worried/paranoid because we've all been there (or are currently there too).
The only thing any of us can do is wait! Don't lose hope just yet! Wishing you the best!

Did you have a Baylor interview/admission
No unfortunately I did not. I'm not really sure why as I thought I would be a good fit. I did somehow manage to score a II to NYU but I just got the rejection. Barring any miraculous last minute IIs, it seems that UTSW is my first choice.

Hey man I'm in exactly the same boat as you statwise and residency wise... No II from Baylor and no prematch from UTSW. We can't be the only ones for sure! Hang in there.

Forgot to update here, II two days after submitting on TMDSAS deadline (no casper at that point)... looks like they have some sort of screening at the point of secondary receipt?

Only had a single mid-Jan interview available.

you will probably start an avalanche of unbidden updates now

"You would like me to add this letter to your file? Of course. My pleasure."

Oops. Deleted. We shall continue to think that utsw doesn't take updates

Since UTSW doesn't require parent info on FAFSA, does that mean i'll get more grants both from the school and the federal government than i would otherwise with my parents income included?

All it means is that you can borrow as much as the full need allows. The school may or may not give a scholarship for instate but they do give $1000 to OOS students to reduce their tuition to instate.

Dang. So southwestern really be releasing prematches once a month.

Can anybody guess if the batches are large? I.e is a single utsw prematch batch equivalent to 2 utmb prematch batch?

They have an extended interview schedule this year and so must be saving some slots for each batch. Last year they had a couple of announcements in December but might have been done after that. This year they will probably do one also in January.

I am lucky to be interviewing in early January. Does this mean I probably won't be considered for a prematch?
