You can't establish in-state residency later on while attending UVM either

Dang. Asking because I received a merit scholarship that would’ve been much better if I could get IS tuition.

I just interviewed and they said we could expect to hear back end of march early april. Apparently they were running a little behind... but hopefully if you interviewed earlier you hear back sooner!
 
Interviewed 2/5. hopefully i hear back soon because the waiting is killing me! Did anyone who interviewed in February hear back about anything yet?

I filled out the application the day after I was accepted, so about a week. I was also very surprised, especially considering I was initially waitlisted
 
So Vermont invites applicants to "affirm their interest" once a decision for waitlist has been made. I was waitlisted back in December and responded stating that I would be thrilled to attend. I have read on here that others potentially send multiple "affirmations" throughout the cycle. Should the declared interest be a one-and-done thing or have some of you sent multiple reminders of sort saying that you are still hoping on Vermont?

Its March 4th. I would revise affirming interest in a few months. Classes start 8/1 ish so you've still got a long way to go !

I think they may be doing silent Rs here. I was complete early August and haven't gotten any type of communication
 
Does anyone know when second look weekend is? I don't think I got an email about it but was accepted a few weeks ago

Are you thinking it's better to send a couple of these affirmations over the next few months?
 
Does anyone know if updates sent to the admissions office carry any weight? They say no updates, but I've heard the office thanks you for them, but not sure if they update your application or even track who sends updates ..

No word from them since submitting in early July
 
Anyone who interviewed 02/05 hear back? I know they said they'd get back to us early march

Nothing yet either, I set up a meeting with the financial aid office just to get an idea of UVM finances and what's available for students. There'll be a financial aid video that'll be rolling out soon (I think sometime mid April). Additionally scholarships are awarded by the admissions committee not the financial aid office.

Also just FYI for context, almost all Med schools wait until at least late March/ April to release financial aid. Don’t think UVM is like totally slacking.

I think this makes sense, it follows the acceptance trafficking rules, so the packages will actually go out to people who will likely attend the school

Also has to do with fafsa timing and stuff. Vcu my state school doesn’t release it until like may
 
Anyone have an idea of if they'll release any more scholarships? Or was 2/25 likely the only time?
 
Hello! I'm sorry if this has been addressed already but I just wanted to be absolutely sure. Any emails or letters sent to the office of admissions should be addressed to Dr. Nathalie Feldman, the interim associate dean for admissions, right?

Hey - not sure if you're asking pre or post II but here's their policy on post II (link here)
"It is not necessary to submit additional letters of recommendation, letters of reference, etc., as these will not influence an applicants place on the waitlist. We do encourage waitlisted applicants to periodically contact the Admissions Office reaffirming their continued interest in the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. You can do this via email to [email protected]."

If you are asking pre-II here is their policy (link here)
"Changes in your email, name or other information should be updated in AMCAS. We pull our information from AMCAS so as long as this is updated, we will have your correct information. We do not accept updates, additional letters of recommendation, etc."

Edit: I think just addressing it to the admissions committee is probably a safer bet.
