Website says 8-10 weeks after your interview. But SDN says otherwise... 1st A = 10/16-28, 1st WL = 10/15-28, and 1st Post-II R 10/21-11/6. Data is from SDN through the past 3 years.

They did last year, but not sure about this year. I interviewed late August so I was hoping I'd hear something today, especially since they've been reviewing apps and pumping out R's pretty swiftly lol

I got a call from the vet and they said "hello, this is Dr. X"

Heart skipped a beat for a minute before she explained who she was. On the bright side, my cat doesn't have worms.
 
Submitted my secondary around 9/10…. have a feeling that pre-II R is coming up, maybe this week….
 
Just got a post II waitlist. I'm starting to worry my interviews haven't been going as well as I thought they were 🙄.

For those of you who are also waitlisted, when do you plan to submit update letters/letters of interest? I wanted to wait until I had a really meaningful update, but I know these are viewed highly for applicants who are waitlisted.

OOS WL today via email 🙁 interview invite late July. Completed secondaries in early late June (I don’t even remember tbh, but it was early). Stats: 3.7/513. Extracurriculars: good enough. Blood type: O-

What do you guys think differentiates between a waitlisted applicant and an accepted one? Bc many seem to think they had good interviews. Do you think it’s stat focused? Interview? Mission? Interest (in either direction)?

My stats are decently above the average and I feel that I have a good mission fit but I absolutely TANKED the interview (it was my first one and it was bad lol) - that said I was waitlisted and thought I would for sure be rejected after how poorly it went, making me think that interview might not be *that* important? Idk all speculation

did anyone who interviewed in august or early september not receive any emails or calls today?

I mean... just because you think you had bad interview might not actually mean you actually did bad.

Total speculation, but based on how receptive Georgetown is known to be to letters of intent, I believe that what differentiates the decision to accept vs waitlist an applicant is weighted VERY heavily on how likely they feel you'll attend the school.

Reflecting on my interview, I feel like it went decently well, but I'm not sure I emphasized just how much I would love to attend Georgetown.

I definitely submitted my letter of interest. Also during the interview and on the letter of interest, I think I conveyed my understanding of what Georgetown SOM is about and how I fit in based on my identity and experiences.

Very true! Honestly not sure what it was. Can say with pretty good certainty that my interview was bad though… for context my interviewer literally raised their brows at one of my answers and basically was like “ok…. Do you have anything else to say about that?”. Seconding what another interviewer said and think it might also be that I didn’t really emphasize that I wanted to go to Georgetown in my interview

for people who interviewed, should we be adding intent/interest letters (on top of our acknowledgment letter) before getting a post interview decision?

I thought my interview went decently well and I really tried to convey how much I'd love to go to school here, since I've lived in DC for years and really wanted to practice there as well. I also thought I was a good mission fit, but I probably could've had more community service hours to prove it. My stats are also above the 90th percentiles so I'm not sure if that factored into getting waitlisted.

^^ definitely also feel like I could have had more community service hours, and wondering if stats play a role in accepted vs waitlisted
