sorry if this is a dumb question but does this school send out an "active review" email or are you all just referring to preliminary review/secondary application is complete email? thanks!

I never got an active review email, but was interviewed anyways. I think they miss folks sometimes, but you can always email Sonya and ask.

In-state, stats are nothing to write home about- so I’ll save those for the ad-com 😁 (they’re not abysmal but also nothing to brag about either), I will say I’m a non-traditional student and I essentially did my own post-Bach to complete pre-med requirements as well as have a lot of years working in healthcare as an NP, so I’m thinking my application was strong aside from average stats and helped me get an invite. My secondary was complete 8/24, under active review 10/25 and interview invite today 11/18. Hope this info helps 💗

Hey y’all, I called yesterday about my active review status (or lack-thereof) and was told LSUS doesn’t really start looking at OOS students until the spring. Not sure what to think since I did see some OOS getting acceptances/II’s. Just letting y’all know what I was told.

Is possible they look at a few regional OOS from the bother states ( TEXAS/ ARKANSAS) early on, but the bulk is done early spring when they have a good idea of what their in-state cohort looks like. BOTH LSU are not very OOS friendly unless you have very strong ties or Insealy high states with a genuine interest in rural MED.
 
OOS, low stats just got the R. was under review starting sometime late Oct.
 
Just received the "Active Review" email. OOS but I have ties to Louisiana and I'm from/currently live in the South. Application complete on 9/29...let the waiting game continue LOL

I also completed on 09/28th but have not received any email. Pl let me know your stats?
 
I've been under active review since mid October but haven't heard anything, IS. should I be worried lol
 
I am not an expert . My experience is this means you are in the interview pool but the committee has not yet picked you up for an II. Can you share your stats ?
In-state or OOS
GPA
MCAT

I submitted my application in mid-October and received this email "Thank you for completing our Secondary Application. Your file is now under preliminary review. When there is a change in your status, you will receive an email or, in some cases, a phone call from the Admissions office. This could be a matter of days or weeks."

Did you get this email when you submitted your secondary? Are you in-state or O-O-S?

I got the same email after submitting my secondary but my LOR took forever to come. I think it got sent like a month after I completed the secondary. I got a "file complete" email from New Orleans after my letter was sent in but never got anything from Shreveport. I'm in-state but applied stupidly late.
 
Oh boy I’m under review.

Hope they don’t look closely 🙂(OOS. Non-border state)

When did you apply? Mine was 10/15 (Recommender was down with Covid for over 2 months :( . I did not want to submit an incomplete application. I am O-O-S

If you did not get a file complete email please check your junk folder. You can also call them and check if your application was complete.

Was put on active review recently. Do they accept updates via email?
 
Did anyone send an email asking about the status of their application? I’ve been under active review since early October and still haven’t heard anything. Also do they take updates and additions to applications over email?

Under Active Review Wed 12/8. Average MCAT and 3.75 GPA from a top 10 ranked undergrad institution. I was born in Shreveport but have lived OOS most of my life. Guess we'll see! Also interested if anyone has sent updates/if they are open to receiving them.
