2022-2023 Indiana

I swear we should just forget about the physical mail sent the 15th and look forward to the emails that should come a week later on the 22nd. At least, that’s how I’ve reduced the overwhelming anxiety for the past few months…

Also, any other 8/31 interviewees still waiting for the A? I’m trying hard not to get sad and self-doubt but it’s difficult :’(

I know bro it’s difficult , hope you get in soon. Are you OOS?

I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly... I got the A this weekend. How do I hold my place in the class without making the formal locked-in decision? Am I supposed to email them?

you can either send the hard copy of the form that came with your acceptance letter in the mail or submit via the portal! i got my A 11/19 and my portal updated today (email notification)

My portal currently says everything has been received/completed except for my LOR and course prerequisite requirements. Anyone know how long this usually takes to show as complete? I received my portal link for the UMP on 10/24 and am wondering if anyone knows the timeline of receiving an official interview date after submitting all required materials?

My LOR’s took a solid month to be checked off, just because of how long it takes them to review and manually update their system. I received my interview date before my LOR and course prereq’s were checked off. They’ll send your interview date ~4 weeks in advance. It’s just a waiting game, but at least you know you’re waiting for good news!

My LOR’s took over a month! They still weren’t checked off when I got the interview date. It will probably be around a month from the interview invite before you get an interview date

I called them today and they said that you have to send in the hard copy that comes in the mail as well as the portal form, although the 14 day rule is not strict because they know there are issues with mail delivery, especially around the holidays.

oh wow both!! thank you so much for letting me know that

Sorry if this has been asked already but does Indiana accept update letters?

Does everyone have the portal update now? I interviewed 10/12 but it's looking like I didn't make the cut for this batch sadly

Has anyone who interviewed on 11/02 (for MD or MD-PhD) received a decision yet? I'm guessing not but would just like to temperature check

Has anyone who interviewed 8/31 or 9/7 and not heard back emailed or called about their application?

The earliest you will hear will be 12/15 or a few days later. I interviewed early October and heard back after 11/15.

Does anyone know if OOS students can become eligible for in-state tuition after the first year? I tried researching their website but I couldn’t find any information on it.

based on all the threads i’ve read it doesn’t seem like this is an option sadly

What does the type of interview mean on the portal? For ex. Mine says the Evansville campus, does that section matter or it indicates where your interviewers are located?

Darn, okay, thank you

Mine said Indianapolis, and I’m pretty sure it‘s just where your interviewers are located

Might need to email the IUSM financial aid office for more on this though. IU (undergraduate) has a policy where you can apply to be classified as an in-state student for residency purposes, but I'm guessing it's a bit different for IUSM. Might be worth reaching out to see what your options are.

I just got my interview scheduled and am trying to figure out the format of the interview. My understanding is that it is 1-on-1, with a faculty interviewer (??), and around 40 minutes long. Does anyone know if it's closed or open file? Anything else of note?

Okay so my interview was 1 on 1 but some others had multiple people interviewers in 1 session. Your portal should show you whose your interviewer. Yes it is open file and it’s 40 minutes.

Hey did anyone do the UMP interview? If so I just have a few questions, I can pm you!

I also have questions about this! The UMP interview is separate from the general interview, right? I still haven't heard word of when mine is scheduled (and I completed my UMP app in early Oct)... does that sound normal or should I go ask them what's up?

I think so, yeah because I just got my date a few days ago but my UMP app was completed in late September.

Is anyone with an A going to the virtual student reception thing this afternoon? Do you know what the dress code is?
