So sorry to hear 🙁! Im in a similar situation as as well. I had an interview last year and rejected afterwards and have been working on my extracurriculars. I submitted my secondary on this year 8/25/22 (2.5 months earlier than last) so I have not heard anything back. I wonder if they they look at re-applicants in a different manner?

Im so confused how I am the only one who got rejected through the portal, what the heck 🙁 I am so confused!!

Anyways, in the message section, it just said "University of Minnesota Medical School - Application Decision" and then I clicked "view email message" and it contained my rejection letter. It says I received this letter on August 22nd, 2022, yet I still have not received an email yet. However, at the top of the email, it is dated September 1st, 2022, so I don't know if they accidentally sent me the rejection early or something?

Either way, very sad right now, hoping this was some how a mistake or something. But I assume its probably not a mistake 🙁

so sorry to hear that 🙁 definitely contact the admissions office because it's super weird they did not send you an email. Hopefully it's a mistake. If not, I'm sure the rest of your cycle will go well since you were able to secure interviews last year! Wishing you the best of luck

It seems like it was some glitch so hoping you hear good news next. This also gives us a clue that UMN will most probably update us on Thursday.
 
It sounds like Duluth admissions will be handling folks who applied to rural and Indigenous pathways (in line with previous practices), and Twin Cities admissions will be handing the other three.

Outside of campus selection, I doubt they’ll play any major role in admissions, at least this cycle.
 
Has anyone heard back from the Duluth pathways?? I wonder if they r on a different schedule
 
Is UMN still considered rolling admissions? Their website says interviews are given on a rolling basis, but decisions will come out on 2 specific dates- so I’m confused wether or not admissions are still rolling

I would call it pseudo-rolling, I guess. Interview invites are obviously still rolling. If you interview anytime until a few weeks before the first decision release date, you will hear then. Otherwise you will hear on the second date. I don’t think they are doing deferred decisions or anything like that between the two dates.

My guess is that it will still be somewhat beneficial to interview early.

Do you by any chance know when/ what dates the interviews could be scheduled for? I’m just trying to gauge since I have a surgery coming up and have every single finger and toe crossed for an II.

I checked and I’m scheduled at the end of September and that was it. No other dates listed

Is there an email with a decision in the communications section of the portal? Seems weird they said that but you didn’t get an actual email…
