After March 15th, they make a waitlist and you will get a notification that you are invited to be on the waitlist or rejected
The email states “We anticipate making acceptance offers on October 17, December 16, February 1, and March 15. Your profile will remain on hold until such time that you receive an offer of admission (on one of the above dates) or you are invited to be on the alternate list, which will be formulated in mid-March.” To me this wording suggests that we’ll be accepted or waitlisted by March, and only rejected if we fail to make it off the waitlist.

IS - If we haven’t heard anything yet should we assume waitlisted?
I believe how it works is on the days we can be notified (next one is in Dec), they rank everyone who is waiting on a decision - the top percentage gets A, the bottom R, and the rest get reranked with the new interviewees on the next date (in Feb). Then everyone with no decision will get considered for the wait list which will be finalized in March.

Hey guys I was accepted on monday. I'm canadian, interviewed in august and I was also accepted to fmSTAT the next day. Happy to answer any questions, congrats to other who were accepted and keep on going to all those who were disappointed on monday! You'll make it!

Any current medical students know when the best time to look for apartments/any apartment recommendations/ apartment locations?

Can any current medical students comment how stringent that windows laptop requirement is?
They worded it very weirdly, but they actually just mean that they have a minimum requirement of a Windows 10 or equivalent OS on your computer. Under their recommended brands section for laptops, they mention Apple and other brands and say that the actual specs matter more.

I don't remember where I saw it, but I thought they said there was some portion of the curriculum/exams where Apple wouldn't be allowed?

Let me know if you find a link for where it says that! If that's the case, I might need a new computer 😅

Laptop Requirements VCU School of Medicine Under the FAQ tab "I have a laptop I used in undergrad. Can I use it here, or do I need to buy a new one?" -- it says "Apple laptops can be used for day-to-day classwork, but you MUST bring a Windows-based laptop for exams."

Ah that’s so annoying, I think I’m going to email them and make sure it’s just not some outdated thing that’s still on their page. I’ll let you guys know what they say.

current M2 here at VCU and have used my macbook since day one with no issues! So many people bought new windows laptops for no need. You can reach out to confirm but I think they just haven't updated the site.

Im Canadian!! Do you mind if I ask your stats? Ive had rejections & radio silence and im freaking out!!

Just got this email and I really cant tell if it's a rejection or not 🤣

"I am Dr._____ and I serve as the Interim Dean at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Pharmacy, one of the top pharmacy programs in the country. I am writing to congratulate you on your nomination by VCU School of Medicine for the Explore Health Careers Program.

The Explore Health Careers Program allows VCU to identify promising talent and create opportunities for students who we believe have the potential to transform healthcare. While you were not admitted to VCU School of Medicine, due to the volume of applicants, we believe you have outstanding qualities that would serve you well as pharmacist........"

I just got that too. Is this their way of rejecting students? The "while you were not admitted to VCU" is so confusing. big sad

Got this too lol. So confusing

Did anyone get an email or information about financial aid after accepting their offer of admission and paying the deposit? I was told we're supposed to get more information after paying but I haven't seen anything yet.

Have you submitted your Profile and FAFSA? If so, I would contact VCU SOM's financial aid person Pemra ([email protected])

Thanks, but did you receive any other information regarding next steps for admitted students at VCU? Apart from financial aid stuff
There'a supposed to be an invitation for the admitted students open house on December 4th going out soon, but other than that I haven't heard anything.

anyone who went thru the fmSTAT interview process can tell us how it is? idk how much is confidential so maybe just how you felt?

Completed mid-July and no II on my end. Additionally, I didn’t get that controversial school of pharmacy email but idk if that’s good news or not as there has only been silence from here
I think a redditor said he/she received the terrible pharmacy email then got the formal rejection email a day after. So I am sure not receiving it is a good sign for now

Yeah I know about the redditor and the post that you’re talking about. Just staying positive while waiting for a formal answer from the school

Does anyone recall if there is an MMI station that is more of a traditional interview where you explain why them? Or are all of them scenario based? Also, any acting-based stations?

The first one is a traditional question and the rest are MMI
