Based on last year’s thread, people definitely got accepted from being deferred! Don’t stress yet ☺️

Finally got the A! It took me 3 years of applying and I finally got in. If you do not give up on your dreams then your dreams will not give up on you. Also for people who are accepted, it says to submit the deposit but I literally can't find where

Anyone have an idea what's the theory with the 'other offers' webpage under the Offer tab on the website and if it's helpful for anything to list other offers there? Not sure if they offer scholarships beyond Abigail, but maybe that helps inform those decisions ?

Looking at the thread from last year there were def people who got accepted after deferral. So at least for Geisinger its not a soft R

Last year I ended up waitlisted after being deferred. So, potentially you have the chance to come off the waitlist if it gets to that point and if there is a lot of movement

Def. Spoke to admissions today and the woman basically confirmed again that they only meet once a month and that it could be “6-8 weeks. Sometimes even more”

if you already sent a LOI i would lean of the side of not asking where you stand since it wont improve your standings. FWIW the FB page of accepted students has 79 students rn.

Last year’s class was 111

Important to remember that all schools accept more students than their actual class size. So Geisinger accepts at least 200+

I just realized that geisinger sent an email regarding their Abigail’s scholar program a while ago they said that the FAFSA was required to be filled out by March 1st to be considered for the program - does anyone know if that’s a strict deadline?

fwiw, I just interviewed for Abigail scholars yesterday and haven’t yet filled out my FAFSA. I have not heard anything from Geisinger about it either, so I think you’re probably ok!

From what I can see, Geisinger only releases decisions once a month at around the midpoint of the month. I interviewed near the end of January and I was deferred mid-March.
