I’m in a similar boat as you. Completed on 7/16 and its been silent. As long as we don’t have an R, there’s still a chance that we can get an II. Crossing my fingers that we hear something good from them soon

I hope so. I got waitlisted from one of my interviews so I'm a bit down in the dumps. Just hoping I don't end up with multiple waitlists

It ain’t over till it’s over. There’s still time to get II’s from different schools and the waitlists still offer a chance for you to get some A’s later on in the cycle. Just keep moving forward and surely you’ll get that white coat. I believe in you! 😊

does vcu accept update letters?
So this is what I found on their secondary portal (found on their FAQ page under the welcome tab) in regards to sending updates: "ONLY at the request of the Admissions Committee. Otherwise, please DO NOT submit additional materials or updates. We believe that the AMCAS application you initially submitted is representative of your academic abilities and activities. Unsolicited materials will be discarded."

During the info session at my interview they said they do accept updates, but only about significant things you’ve started doing that weren’t mentioned in your application and they only accept them after II’s. They also said you should try to get them in before the adcom votes on you, which is usually the monday after your interview date.

Many schools are waitlisting now because more students are able to attend interviews due to Zoom and as a result, gain more acceptances. Once more people settle into the schools they want and drop acceptances, waitlists are going to shift.

Do waitlists at top schools have large movements too?

It varies from year to year and school to school. There are some schools that don't release decisions until March too, which can lead to wait-list shifts, so yeah it's not fun. Can't do much but wait and as much as we try to predict the cycle, we really can't. Admissions tries to predict it too, but even they miss the mark sometimes so waitlisting more students and accepting them over time is safer than accepting too many students.

I was wondering if any current student or someone who interviewed can speak more about the unique aspects of the VCU program. For instance, is this school more research focused or community service based? Is the curriculum unique compared to other schools in any ways? Thank you.

any advice, thoughts, or feedback from someone who went through the fmSTAT interview?

Just got a reconfirmation of a post-II R today. Completed on 7/5/22 and interviewed on 9/22/22 and rejected on 9/26/22.
Quote, "As iteration, the medical school of Virginia Commonwealth University will not consider you for admission for the medical class of 2027. We have a small class size and selection of qualified applicants is rigorous. While you are not physician material for Virginia Commonwealth University, you may apply to the school of Pharmacy for consideration. We wish you the best in your endeavors for your career."
Yeah, that hurts 🙂
