135 ppl did, a few more mightwho’s gonna give up a spot at duke ?? 😭😭
very real. the changes to fafsa and the delays are probably affecting people’s decisions. i did hold out for one of my schools financial aid offers for a bit.135 ppl did, a few more might
Any changes to the groupme since last time?135 ppl did, a few more might
109 in committed, 113 in admitted (including current students I believe)Any changes to the groupme since last time?
Thank you so much for the update!109 in committed, 113 in admitted (including current students I believe)
What is the class size?
oopI think 120 but ~10 are MSTP
Does this mean that there are around 10 seats left in the class? Or does this not include MSTP?109 in committed, 113 in admitted (including current students I believe)

Yeah thats what I feared 😢.Given not everyone joins the groupme, the total committed is probably higher than 109 which means the class is still full
A few people have gotten in from dukes WL in the past week
I’m so confused about this because it seems like the admissions team has said they were full since day 1A few people have gotten in from dukes WL in the past week
It explains the increase of the FB group from 165 to 168 the past week and now 167.I’m so confused about this because it seems like the admissions team has said they were full since day 1
And this is what I was thinking. Variable PTE dates across schools will not have the same impact as CTE. The delay we are seeing with PTE will probably go away as we get closer to June and things will start to look more like past cycles for almost all schools. It explains the increase of the FB group from 165 to 168 the past week and now 167.
I suspect that the admissions email will send you the automatic response "we're full" if the word "waitlist" is contained anywhere in your email. My friend that is also on the waitlist said that they sent a couple of emails to the duke admissions email, and they got the message only for the emails that contains the word "waitlist" even though they were all related to their waitlisted app.
If they are having waitlist movement, the silver lining is that it means people are starting to drop their multiple acceptances and not everyone who gets off the waitlist will accept the offer. Other top schools like Stanford and Yale seem to be having movement so there might not be a big wave but rather a trickle as people get close to either school's extended PTE or CTE deadlines.
Personally, I think I'm at the point where I'm mentally moving on. After waiting this long, I don't think I can hold out anymore and hope that they like me enough to admit me over the 100+ applicants they accepted but turned them down. I'm grateful for the interview opportunity and the position on the waitlist but I think I'm done feeling like I'm not good enough as an applicant, especially after being lucky enough to get into other T20 schools. And this is what I was thinking. It’s not over til it’s over. Everyone will end up where they are supposed to be. The numbers game with the groupme and facebook can be anxiety-inducing. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Regardless, whatever institution you guys end up is luck to have you.
How did you find this out?A few people have gotten in from dukes WL in the past week
meme creation is update letter worthy imo
😂honestlymeme creation is update letter worthy imo
I was under the impression of once CTE deadline hits, there will be no waitlist movement after that?Does anyone know if schools historically have movement right after the CTE deadline? Still holding on to a glimmer of hope
Ive seen schools have a tiny bit of movement right after CTE. I am not sure that will be the case here.Does anyone know if schools historically have movement right after the CTE deadline? Still holding on to a glimmer of hope
As cliche as this sounds: be yourself. Don’t self-select by not filling out the secondary if Duke is somewhere you’d like to attend. Duke’s secondary is longer and does require considerable thought. Take the time to genuinely share who you are with your responses.do any admitted students have advice on duke's secondary 😭😭😭 would appreciate any advice i really like this school lol feel free to pm
