For everyone who recieved a II and have around ~70 LM score did y’all apply regional campus preferred or main campus preferred? Just curious how impt that selection is on the secondary since it’s a newer pathway.

How do you see you are on hold? When I log into the portal all I see is my application

Omg is it still worth it to submit the secondary? I got it a couple of weeks ago and finally got the time to work on it, but seeing everyone's "on hold" is making me nervous that I'm late

Do they track time taken to complete secondary? Is it too late to submit (received 7/11)?
Spamming every thread with this question isn’t helpful for all the other SDN users trying to stay updated on their schools’ threads.

Yes, most schools can see when they sent you the secondary and when you submit. Not all schools have a hard/required turnaround time though.

Hold =/= rejection. A hold right now does not definitively determine whether or not you'll get an II later on the cycle.
Is anyone familiar with last year's cycle? Regarding hold -> II?

During the initial round of II's from GW, some applicants went from hold to II while others went from complete to II, which I believe was different from prior years in that people usually only went from complete to II. Last year was also weird because some people went from complete --> hold --> complete --> II.

You can take a look yourself if you want: 2022-2023 George Washington

Thank you for your response.

So to everyone on hold -- don't lose hope. Seems like it can go either way.
It's still VERY early. 🙂

Every year people go from hold -> II. It happens every year. The school gets 15k+ applicants a year and holds at the beginning are simply because they’re trying to triage the mass influx of apps.

I have absolutely no insight on how the admissions committee makes their decisions. I do really empathize with all of the neuroticism because I remember being in all of your shoes and checking my portal every day, but holds don’t mean rejection or re-review and there’s no way to predict it either way. I know people who weren’t on hold, got II, and were then waitlisted and never moved off the WL. And I was on hold, got an II, and was accepted at the tail end of the cycle. It’s really variable, which doesn’t assuage any concerns, but GW does use holds for the true purpose of putting a pause on things and it doesn’t have some underlying meaning to interpret.

Great to know, thanks for your insight. I'm sure it's helpful for everyone in this thread.

mine changed to that after they sent the interview information to my email, i’m assuming bc we won’t get a new status update till after our interviews

My (uneducated) guess is that complete either means eventual interview or straight-up R while hold means there is a possibility of re-review or soft R. No idea though.
i think its more of what the mod said, its a "maybe". As in "we read your app, its good, but lets read some more, and we'll get back to ya" and i think ppl going straight to II were a perfect school fit or just very outstanding applicants

Interview feedback:

Might be worth it to make an edit for the characters limit saying that this does NOT include spaces. Most schools do include space, so for GW I went back and added more after pre-writing
