I was just thinking about that.. Based on what people have been reporting here, with only Savannah acceptances since last Friday (and considering that Savannah only has 40 seats compared to the 300 from Athens and Augusta combined) statistically we are bound to see more movement… right?!
I hope so!

I would say there’s still going to be a bit of waitlist movement (my best guess would be at least a dozen more As before the orientation in July). Just wanted to offer some clarity based on the numbers provided during my interview: 206 seats in Augusta, 60 seats in Athens, 40 seats in Savannah, and I’m pretty sure there’s 306 seats total.

Do we know how many people are currently assigned to each campus?

So I just looked through the GroupMes and ran some quick counts:

MCG total: 300 (284 new students, 16 upper class students)
MCG Athens: 77 (62 new students, 15 upper class students)
MCG Savannah: 34 (25 new students, 9 upper class students)

***MCG Augusta does not have a dedicated GroupMe and a lot of people are in multiple groups so it’s hard to say how many students are in the Augusta group without double-counting.
But through the difference it looks like there are 197 new students in the Augusta group.

It is also to be noted that not everyone who is an upper class student has identified themselves (via an M1/M2 next to their name) so it’s difficult to say with certainty how accurate these numbers are.

Thank you for that!! Hoping for some movement today or tomorrow going crazy over here lol

Thanks for info medhealthy!! Honestly at this point it’s all speculation. We don’t know how many of the groupme exactly are current students. We don’t know how many are going elsewhere and are still in the chat. We don’t know how many got accepted but aren’t in the groupme. Lots of variables.

All we can do is wait.

Yes forreal lol

Does anyone know what's going to happen for those in the future that pick the Athens campus? Would we be attending school along with uga med students? Using their new building?

has anyone checked with the admissions office regarding the waitlist movement? In the past, the first two weeks seemed to have a lot more movement but I don't know if it is the same for this year due to the FAFSA delay and PTE extension unless there is WL movement that is not being reported on SDN.

Seems odd there hasn’t been a single reported this week

I called them on Monday and they said that they are still in the process of accepting people off the waitlist, but said it was uncertain when/how often as only the admission committee itself knows. It is weird that we haven't heard anything yet this week tho

Got the A today at 1:17pm, EST via e-mail. No campus assignment yet. Completely unreal, but thankful. I will be pulling for all of you on the WL still. I know how painful it is, so if you guys need any sort of updates I'll still be checking SDN on the reg.

Congratulations that's awesome!! Do you mind sharing your stats?

Also are you URM or ORM?

Congrats to everyone who got in! What campuses did you all put as your preferences and what did you get?

Has anyone been accepted with a less than stellar Casper score or know how much it matters? I wonder if it has been holding me back.

Has everyone who’s gotten in from the WL so far been assigned the Savannah campus?

Did anyone who got the email about the early assurance program MS-MD offer while being on the waitlist accept the offer? or is planning to accept it?

I spoke to them the other day just to let people know. They said they are still pulling off the waitlist on a rolling basis. Don’t know how many or when exactly people will hear back.

Did anyone else accept the EAP offer?
I was offered the EAP on April 23rd and have since accepted the offer 🙂. I interviewed end of November. I am a lower stat applicant (LM 63.20) and am in my second gap year. I was offered acceptances to DO programs and was on waitlist at Mercer (withdrew). I believe this was the best route as the master’s will give me the ability to acclimate back into school. Also, I struggled academically with foundational concepts that are important for medical school so doing the master’s will make me more confident going into medial school. Also, on completion, it’s nice to just have an extra degree plus have the instate tuition. I truly thought MCG would reject me given my stats, but truly grateful for the extra opportunity to still be part of their program. Initially, I was upset because I was truly set on wanting to start this summer and graduate 2028, but one extra year is not going to hurt if you’re benefiting with extra education and in the end, getting an education and MD from MCG. Wanted to share this if anyone is on a similar boat and wanted to see some perspective.
