I personally put when I submitted my secondary and all components of my application were considered “complete”.

sorry, I meant those who received the email saying you will not be invited to submit a secondary at this time but that there is a chance you could get one in the future but its unlikely. Like if anyone has ever received a secondary invite after that email.

Ohh hmmm my bad, I guess I haven't been following the thread that well to see pre-secondary holds/rejections, thought you were talking about interviews maybe. Someone else may know 🙂

Their email says they will likely interview people off the hold list by February, but how many they place on hold and what percent they interview is a mystery. If anyone has any sort of data on this it would be nice to know!

Edit: looked through some past Reddit posts and looks like max 5-10% of people make it off the hold list. But one year no one made it off at all. So basically an R but might get lucky.

Doesn’t seem to be linear, must be based on faculty/staff reviewing speed

Yes, there is a non-zero chance that you get an interview from the hold. My understanding is that the hold is used to fill any spots in the last few interview sessions.

I would say yes that it's good news
I didn't get a hold email in the first round of holds so I assumed it was an R and got sad but then the week after i ended up getting an II LOL

The email I got this morning was a post-secondary hold. So I had already submitted my secondary.

Are they either sending Rs, holds, or IIs to people as they review them? I have not heard back from them since I submitted my secondary in early September so I am just assuming they have not gotten to my application yet.

based on previous posts they are still in the July/August timeframe - September will probably hear back in December/January

I’m URM and seemed to have been processed chronologically. I’m not sure honestly.

That's a good point URM and PRIME applicant so maybe that's it?

I think prime is done in its own order. I've seen at other UCs the prime applicants hear back on atypical timeliness compared to everyone else

No idea. Only an adcom would know. Not following directions can't help, but I doudt they care honestly
