It means nothing and offers go out over the next few months

Edit: That sounded too blunt. Getting an early interview mainly means that you had turned in your app early and reviewers had time to read it & select you early.
There are other competitive applicants who may have been waiting for a score or were just a little slower to turn things in.
That’s why schools spread out their interviews over months to try to give more people a chance to be seen and heard.

If they follow their pattern from last year, new prematch offers were made approximately once a month after the initial one.
I am not privy to their admissions committee meeting schedule, but I would assume such new offers come out shortly after a meeting at which they discuss newly interviewed people as well as previous ones.

Let's see if it will happen this way in 2023!

The portal has options to upload update letters and LOIs so they are allowed.

On my portal, I don't see the usual "Document Upload" tab like I do for other schools. Does that happen to show up on your McGovern portal? Not sure if it shows up post-II

That's weird, I have one, but I am not sure if it appeared post-II or not.

During today's second look tour, we were told the sign-up for McGovern's student housing will open in mid-late January. The catch is that you need a letter of acceptance to get onto it which many McGovern hopefuls won't have 😕

True, but the pre-match peeps will only have a 2-3 week head start because Match Day for the rest is Feb 16th

Don't worry - the student housing is very inexpensive, but there are other great options near the med center 😊

you are most likely to get a 1000 scholarship that allows you to pay instate tuition.

During the Interview Day they said that they usually give out of state students scholarships that waive the out of state fee. They really breezed through the material but that was one point they said. Also they said the financial aid was given in June not sure about when the scholarship would be announced.

Possibly because they need time to discuss their last batch of interviewees , but they would have the rest of January to do that

see, they do tell you not to expect too many prematches during the interview. Their process is to give so many admissions for each round of interviews and expect you to rank them high during the match if you really want to attend mcgovern. They are needy that way - "you really really like me".

One school does not get to see another school’s emails.
If McGovern is the one you would forsake all others for, you can send your LOI.

I ended up selecting 11/03. I didn’t feel like waiting until December. They had like 4 interview days listed for that month.
