out of curiosity, anyone else interviewing thursday? it was originally the day for EAP but since a major portion of the EAP group isn’t going until next year, did they open it up to others?

also, per a friend who interviewed earlier they may send out As next week! (eap has to wait until Jan)
I thought they were starting on the 27th? That's what their website says

They said first round of pre match comes out October 27!

Does anyone know if they send out invites according to when you were complete? I was complete on 09/30 and it's been crickets :-(
I’m also really hoping they still send out interview invites from now until January as someone pointed out 🤞🏻

We were told to “tell who we know” that prematches will come out next tuesday, then the next and last round is late january.

Also confirming that no seats are saved for EAP so all 40 are open!
Did you tell them you belong in the first group if they no reservations for EAP?

haha no but it bummed me out for sure! it still goes on our app for their upcoming review so i guess it’s just a bonus for now!
That's really amazing! Where are you getting this info?

+1 they gave us this date at my interview & it’s on the website, but at least now my panic has been postponed another weekend 🤣

they said it’s because they couldn’t get everyone together for phone calls until then which i think is really sweet! keep an eye out for a 903 number! they’ll call you twice before emailing/voicemail.

Does anyone know which interview dates are eligible for the pre match this round?

hello everyone <3 i submitted my secondary on 10/21 and received an interview invite on 10/26. i am from south texas with ties to surrounding rural cities. this is my first time going through the medical school application process and i am honestly terrified going into this interview

i'm slightly embarrassed to mention it, but to be completely honest with you all this is my first interview invite and the stress surrounding the application process has led me to believe that this may be my only invite. therefore, i feel a lot of pressure going into this ˙◠˙ if anyone has any tips on how to prepare for the MMIs, i would love to hear it!! i need all the help i can get

best of luck to everyone, i really hope we all make it somewhere

congratulations on the II! I haven't interviewed here but the "Multiple Mini Interview (MMI): Winning Strategies from Admissions Faculty" book by Samir Desai has lots of great MMI practice/examples. It's around $30, a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion.

other resources that helped me with MMIs was this SDN page and these Youtube videos! Also, knowing basic ethics in medicine!

Buddy you are EXACTLY what they’re looking for if they invited you for an interview, especially that fast!!

Unconventional tip I used for a recent interview that I thought really helped was practicing mindfulness meditation each morning then follow it with reading 10 pages of an interesting book. It’s easy to go into autopilot during an interview and I thought this was a great way to prevent that.

Also, practice speaking out loud while recording yourself to make sure you can confidently speak clearly and think before you speak. I literally started recording myself “vlogging” for a week just to get used to thinking out loud.

To reference a story during my MMI I used the WAR method I found online

W- What happened

A- Action I took

R- results/reflection

hi! just interviewed last week. I honestly didn't prepare a ton, I just sort of winged it and talked about my experiences growing up and volunteering in /working in Tyler and then my nearby small town. There are six MMI stations, if you scroll through this thread you'll see some people mentioned that already so I think that's ok to share. I would focus on answering the MMI prompt then if you have a related personal story/experience add that in. For example, my nearby hometown doesn't have any physicians/clinics so I remember when I worked as an EMR driving in a panic to get a patient to a newly opened UT clinic and being SO happy to see the building and that it was an option for our rural area. I caught myself saying "stuff" and "like" a few times and I think that preparing may have helped me be a little more polished, but overall I feel that I did ok and was open and honest about my background/desire to be a family doc. All of the interviewers were very friendly and relatable, don't be nervous!

Is today when they are announcing pre-match results?
I think so, for those that interviewed before or on Oct 12. Those after Oct 12 will find out near the end of January. It made me smile because they said to be sure to answer your phone if a 903 number calls, but I'm from here, so all my family and friends are 903 lol 🙂

if it helps it’s a 903-877-xxxx number!

At least not on here, but it’s possible that just no SDN’ers have heard anything. Completely anecdotal (and neurotic) but i received my II on a Tuesday and it was after 4pm, so perhaps they have a late meeting? 😂
i can imagine that they’d only be sending max 20 but prob 10-15 to accommodate for later dates and re-evaluating some of the earlier interviewees
