I agree. The student interviewers were excited until the very last second which made me excited!
 
I have a question about the Spark Hire one-way interview. I completed the interview over one month ago and just realized that I never received an email saying my application is complete and under review. In the secondary portal, it says my application is complete, but this happened as soon as I submitted the written secondary, not the Spark Hire interview. I wanted to ask if UTMB sends another email after the Spark Hire interview saying your application is under review. Thanks!

I got two emails: one that said my secondary was received and another that said my application was complete after my SparkHire. The wording was "Your application is complete and will be forwarded to the Admission Committee for review."

I received both emails simultaneously after submitting the written secondary, but before doing the SparkHire interview. I tried to log onto the SparkHire site and it's showing me prompts to start the interview again. I already went through the entire interview and submitted it. Should I redo it or try to contact the school?
 
Thank you letters are just uploaded to the portal right? We don't need to find emails?

MSAR only publishes the # of OOS matriculants,(not # accepted), but:
about 1% of OOS applicants make it to an interview
then 20% of those interviewed matriculate.

TMDSAS schools can have at most 10% OOS in their class.

It says 981 apps, 45 interviews 26 admits.

The primary difference between UTMB and most other schools in texas is they dont automatically give OOS admits in instate tuition. The OOS tuition in Texas at 32-35k is comparable to IS tuition in NJ, CA, NY, and much cheaper than Pennsylvania.

There was someone here last year who got into UTMB and A&M, got instate from A&M and still chose Pennsylvania to be closer to home even though A&M was about 100k cheaper.
 
Does anyone know if they're going to offer pre matches this year? And if yes, is it going to be on Oct 15th like in previous years?

Prematches are offered at EVERY TEXAS SCHOOL EVERY YEAR with the earliest available date of October 15th. Not all schools do them exactly on October 15th though.

UTMB waited close to a week last year after October 15th before issuing their first prematches.
 
Did anyone here do an MSTP secondary here? Did you have to repeat some info? I mean I already said all about my research experience in primary. And now they ask for it again?

So for the MD/PhD one you fill out the AMCAS, for MD only you do TMDSAS. I did both, hence two secondaries. 🙂 The AMCAS primary has additional essays if you apply for MD/PhD degrees. Hence my question. I already wrote a 10,000 character research experience essay (you only see that option if you apply to a dual degree program), and now the MD/PhD secondary has similar essay prompts. Just wondering what others are doing. 🙂

Guys, I'm in a bit of a ****ty situation (pun intended). I have my interview at 1 today, but I woke up with terrible food poisoning. I feel like I got sucker punched by Mike Tyson, and if things continue as they are, there is no way I'm going to be able to perform at my best. Has anybody had any success rescheduling an interview the day of? Even if I could reschedule, would it be a bad idea to do so?

Try to contact them to reschedule if you can, telling them violently ill with food poisoning ought to do it.

Aww, thank you all for the support! Definitely made my day. 🙂

I think my toilet might be having a worse day than me haha. I feel like the interview went great. The SOM informed all of my interviewers of the situation, and they were more than understanding of the fact that I wasn't feeling well.
