**Official PASS 2023 Endodontic Residency Interviews/Information

Thoughts on this - Dean's letter still hasn't been uploaded to PASS. According to the assistant to the Dean, it will be done by the end of this week. Everything else has been submitted for quite some time. I am applying to one program. Any chance my application has been reviewed or will they not look at it until after the Dean's eval is submitted. I'm pretty frustrated.

do yall think it's too late to apply for a school that's already sent out interviews?

Look at past threads to look at school trends.

Some schools do send out additional interviews, but don't count on it.

That’s just not acceptable. Tell the assistant that it’s a rolling application and that time is of the essence.

for tufts did anyone hear back after you emailed the contact person your selected date for the interview?
I would just give them a call just to make sure. Won't hurt

I emailed in the early morning and followed up with a phone call in the afternoon (left a voicemail), and later in the afternoon got the confirmation email

🙁 do they usually send out invites once?
They'll send out more once the interview date gets closer and they need to fill more spots. At least that's what they did last year. I got an interview invite from them just a few days before the actual interview. Same with UDM.

Thanks so much <3 Pretty sad right now - but that def helped! LSU was the only program I applied to.

Seriously? I thought that someone wrote few days ago that their interview gonna be in July! 😵
Do you know if he/she applied to 24 or 36-month ?

That definitely makes it harder when there's only one program you applied to. But hang in there! I think I got an email from them about a week or so before the interview date saying I I'm an alternate and then a few days after that I got an email with an interview invite.

Question for those who went on multiple interviews.

Does anyone know what the general acceptance rate is after receiving and attending an endo interview? Obviously receiving the interview invitation is the biggest initial hurdle, but is it like dental school where they will interview up to 10x or more applicants compared to seats available? Or do endodontic program directors tend to be much more selective when pushing out interview invitations?

With applying to endodontics essentially being 'rolling admissions', are programs seeking to fill their seats as early as possible with their preferred candidates? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Depends on the program and how they do interviews that year, plus how many last minute cancellations they have and can’t fill.

Worst ratio I saw was 8 interviewees per position available. Best was about 4 per position.

Most programs offered positions that night or the end of the week if two dates that week.

On average you have about a 15-20% chance of acceptance with an interview. Depends on the program obviously, but the goal is for the seats to be filled by early august.

For Temple, are the three letters of recommendation required (per the "supporting materials" section on the website) IN ADDITION to the three evaluations provided through PASS? The way they worded/listed it seems like the "letters" are different than the three PASS evaluations.

But I also recognize I might be totally overthinking things here...

I think the LOR in PASS are enough. That is all I had and I got an email to submit a photo and boards scores to complete my application.

Don’t worry! I got accepted 4months before I started so what for you is gonna happen! I believe that wholeheartedly
That's great and encouraging! Thank you for that.
Did they interview you 4 month before you started or they already interviewed you a year before but you haven't heard back?

Are all of the interview invites in person this year? Have any of the programs that have sent out invitations offered a Zoom interview?

Curious

Anyone heard anything from Indiana or Oregon?
Oregon I got an "app complete" email a while back
Indiana I sent an email to the contact on PASS asking if my app was complete and haven't heard anything back.

Do schools usually send out another round of interviews or is this it? I see that some schools already sent out invites to multiple dates but others are scheduled for only one day?

Wish I had a more concrete answer -- it simply depends on the program. Looks at trends from years past to get an idea of which schools sound out multiple invites.

Is there anyone applied to both LLU online application and PASS?
Their website says that PASS is not mandatory. But does it make a difference or makes the application look better overall if we applied to both?
Thank you.

I am not sure, but for example, Rutgers 2021, sent invitations on July 19, and later on July 23 sent another invitations.
Uconn did the same, first in June, followed by another invitation in July.
So there is still a chance I believe..

Is Boston going to send more invites or it’s done? As it has already sent out invites for four days.

Honestly I don't think so. You just ended up paying more for the pass. What makes you look better is the actual content of your app not how you applied.
I'm not sure though maybe other ppl can chime in

I believe what generally happens is as the early programs fill their seats, those accepted candidates drop out of later interview dates. So the schools with later interviews go send out more until they fill all their interview slots, and so on down the line. So there's no telling how many rounds of invites there will be, it probably just depends on what's happening that year with the acceptances.
I just wouldn't expect a second round of invites from any school until the first round of interviews have happened (first week of July)

I applied to LLU on PASS and was told that everything would transfer... turns out they're having problems with PASS and you must use their online application. Bit bummed about this because now by their standards, i'm submitting things late even though I completed pass weeks ago.

I feel your frustration. I've had some bureaucracy issues with some programs not receiving things that landed me in the late pool for those schools (even though the problem was on the ADA/Dentpin end)

Do you know if that applies if you applied with the LLU direct application but still had the rec letters on PASS? I saw on the website that they would transfer the LOR from PASS so you didn’t need to request it twice from your letter writers

Did you get an email stating your LORs are still outstanding? If you haven't, then I wouldn't worry

I am sorry that this happened to you!
You should've applied on their website as LLU website says that their online application is mandatory. PASS is available but not mandatory. I was wondering if it is better to apply to both!
I've been trying to call them several times and contact them via email for weeks but no response until yesterday. She said that applying to PASS is preferable but it is up to the applicant.
So, I asked her again, do you recommend applying to PASS as well? She repeated them same answer that they prefer but they're having issues with PASS.

That's true. You should be receiving automated email if you are missing something. But I guess this email is being sent to the ones who applied via LLU portal only. Because as I mentioned, it is mandatory. So, if you applied only to PASS then you are missing that crucial part of your application.
