I'm a New York resident who was accepted at Stony Brook & have an upcoming interview at Temple. I want to figure out if I would consider choosing Temple over Stony Brook before spending the time and money to travel to Philly.
I am considering pursuing a joint MD/MBA degree. If I don't end up getting my MBA while enrolled in medical school, I will most likely pursue an MBA at a later point during my career. I am a career changer with significant business experience and feel the MBA would be an asset for my career goals.
Stony Brook offers a lot of things I'm looking for (close to family, in-state tuition, and matching research interests), but their MBA program is not accredited. I would not consider getting my MBA from this school for that reason.
Temple is more expensive, and far from my family and significant other, but offers an accredited, decently ranked MBA program as part of their dual-degree program. In addition, the MBA is done while attending medical school without any additional years of education.
Any one have any insight into this issue? Any help gaining some perspective would be greatly appreciated.
