VMCVM c/o 2029 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
IS II. Good luck friends, no matter what news you get try and enjoy your holidays 🙂

omg!! OOS interview invite 2nd time applicant. Definitely do the file review if you didn't get an invite 🙂
Did you apply to VMCVM last year? I am going to do it but I feel certain it’s due to my low GPA (3.11 cGPA) so I am interested to see if that’s what they say.

I also have a lower GPA but I’ve known people with GPAs lower than or similar to mine that have gotten in. It’s so frustrating, I think the large number of applicants that keeps increasing with so few seats just makes it so much more difficult.

I did, and they gave me very helpful feedback on how to boost my ranking. I was in a similar boat last year. Feel free to dm me!

OOS rejection. Guess my masters and over 6 years of experience were both just a hobby to this school too??
this is so disappointing i'm so sorry. wishing you the best of luck the rest of this cycle! the competition of this whole process makes me so upset because everyone is so deserving of getting in.

The increase in applications makes me so nervous…as a third time applicant I feel like my chances just get lower and lower each time.
I’m also a Multi year applicant and totally understand the feeling!! I got an interview invite today though (although it says class of 2028. So not sure on that.

OOS rejection 🙁 this was my top school so i'm very crushed and it's my birthday. definitely not feeling good
Happy bday fellow sagittarian … mine is on Friday
This is my fifth time (and final) applying to vet school. Don’t give up hope. The process is grueling but they’re already revamping a lot of the procedures and processes. You will get in.

For those who received interviews - Congrats! And by what day do you have to accept the interview spot?

What did they tell you to improve on if you don’t mind sharing?
It'll be different for everyone, but they look at more than just your grades. To get full points in an area of experience (vet, animal, work, volunteering) you'll need at least 100 hours.

I just received an OOS (IL) interview invite at 3:27! I stopped reading when they listed “after receiving over 2200 applications” because I assumed it was a rejection. Then I re-read it and was like WAIT WHAT?

Thank you! Happy almost birthday. That gives me lots of hope, thank you. I'm rooting for you! Your dedication and hard work through all those cycles just proves you'll make a great vet!

For the oos interviews do yall mind sharing your stats?
last-45 & prereq: 4.0. cGPA: 3.6. I think I really benefited from the holistic review. Side note: did anyone else say they were interested in the DVM-PhD program?

IS (VA) interview invite for the second time! Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone picked a day/time for the interview already? Why do they ask if anyone will be accompanying us?

I feel this…this is my third cycle. I have 5 years of full-time work experience in the field in all areas. It’s so frustrating because we worked so hard and there’s so few seats

IS (VA) rejection. 3rd time applicant to VMCVM. Have done their application reviews the past two years. Made the changes they recommended to my otherwise “perfect” application. Feeling crushed and confused. Hopefully next year is better.
Congratulations to those who were invited for interviews. You’ve got this!!!

Wow, kudos to you for staying so optimistic! Gl with the rest of your cycle!!

My last 45 and Pre-req GPAs were 4.00; my cumulative GPA was 3.35. I feel like my essays and non-traditional background played a large role in getting an interview. I still honestly cannot believe I received an interview, though.

I have not recieved anything. Should I send an email to admissions?
I'd give it until EOD tomorrow. Looks like they've been sending out emails over the last several hours. I just got my rejection notification at 4:25 PM.
