Don't stress about it, they seem to be going out over time. I got mine over a week ago, so they probably send a few out every day. Maybe they base it on alphabetical by last name. I'm 'F' anyone else want to chime in?

Nope, I got it like 2 weeks ago and I'm "T" (and in California, so its not a distance thing either).

It's probably just one of those random things, like who gets secondaries when. I highly highly doubt I'm a better candidate than you, Breeak, so you'll be fine!

Thanks guys. I'm just stressing this week because nothing has been happening with so many of my apps. It's better than rejections I suppose, but I'm feeling invisible. 🙁

I know the feeling. I finally got a chance to sit down with that big pretty new viewbook last night, and it says waaaayyyy on the last page that we're not going to hear anything about interviews until at least September....:scared:

any Canadians know how to fill out the social insurance number part?

Just receieved this:
We have concluded our examination of the difficulty a small number of applicants recently had logging onto the DMS secondary application. We have discovered that the data systems that transfer the complete set of information for each applicant from AMCAS computers in Washington to the local server at Dartmouth have been experiencing occasional delays. The delay means that our local server may not have received your information when you try to login and use the secondary application. Without that data, our system cannot verify your information. If you cannot login, please wait a few days and try again. We appreciate your patience and assure you that technical staffs at Dartmouth and AMCAS are working to resolve these short delays.
I still can't log in, though. Guess five days isn't long enough for those pesky e-transfers.

Just checked and I'm all green, took forever for those letters of recommendations.

just curious. do we have to mail in (via snail mail) our secondary app once we have submitted it? the instructions make it seem like you do and from the previous posts, it seems like some people have (but some haven't). why is that?

It sounds like you don't need to mail a copy if you paid online. If you paid by mail or sent a waiver, you have to print and mail an application as well.

So I am trying to write the open-ended question on the secondary. This is my first open-ended question that I have had to do so far since the other secondaries I have filled out so far have been more specific on their essays. Anyway, do you guys think it would be a good idea to talk about some implicit traits about my personality on it and give examples?

That's what I did...sort of an expanded "why are you unique" essay. After all, the prompt asks you to tell them about yourself. It was a tough choice between that and a "why dartmouth" approach that would have some substance since I'm from New Hampshire.

Hey all - since I am a permanent resident, I faxed in a copy of my green card (with my full name, AMCAS ID, etc) to the adm office on 8/11. Still it's marked as "not received." Would it really take them that long to pick up this piece from the fax machine and put it in my file? 😕

I would imagine that they pick it up from the fax machine and add it to the pile to be processed "in the order received" and since it took over three weeks for them to process the app that I mailed in, I wouldn't be surprised if it took a while.

Oh hm, why did you mail your application? And I would think that... fax should be more immediate of a receipt than a mail, shouldn't it? Maybe I'm just mistaken...

I had to mail it because I got a fee waiver and their policy says that if you pay by check or get a fee waiver, you have to mail your app. Also, it only takes 3-5 days for mail be be received, and it took nearly a month for them to process my app.

This is probably a dumb question, but if everything on my application status page is marked in green, does that mean I'm complete? 😕

Yep. Their email said that once its all green, you're good to go!

is anyone else having trouble signing in to dartmouth? i completed my secondary a week ago, and i wanted to see if they received by LORs, but i cant sign in.

I'm itchin' to hear something from Dartmouth (even though it's a fat chance with my stats).. still September before any interview invites go out? Did anyone call and ask? That beautiful viewbook just sits there and taunts me with the Awesomeness of Dartmouth.

Is the book really that nice? Mine was shipped to my home address, so I haven't been able to look over it here at school.

Ahhh, the all beautiful Book O' Dartmouth...It is both beautiful and informative...It says no invites till September on the last page...

Damnit I want that book. Do they ship it to your permanent address over your preferred or something??

Pfft. You can probably just drive down and demand it in person.

Okay, I've been complete for over month and still no fancy Dartmouth booklet.. should I be worried?

Does Dartmouth take phone calls? I just tried calling and I was immediately sent to their voicemail.

Anyway, whats the lag time between they receive LORs and mark it as complete? Thanks!

I submitted secondaries and LORs for my schools (including Dartmouth and NYMC which I saw you were also asking about) back in July and it took them at least 2 to 3 weeks. If you submitted your LORs 8/20, I would give it another couple of weeks at least...the impression I have gotten from this forum is that it takes longer for these things as you get further into the application cycle because more and more people start submitting...

a week isn't not long enough to start getting worried...

and stop checking this forum so obsessively!!! lol

j/k I do it too...it's a crutch🙁

I think that I was complete sometime during mid- to late-July (I don't know the exact date as I was unable to check the status page every day).

Haha, i noticed that the fancy dartmouth booklet is just their website printed out on a fancy booklet.... literally. The exact descriptions, pictures, comments, etc.

So dont worry about the fancy booklet, just visit the website. 😀

I had called them to check on my status in July. I had to leave a voice message but they called me back within a few hours and were very helpful. They told me they had thousands of applications in already and that was around the third week of july!

Anyone hear anything from Dartmouth lately? Seems too quite.

Nope, I didn't even get a complete email..

I didn't get the Dartmouth booklet either. My status page has all 'green' circles though...so I suppose that means my application is complete?
Where are you, O interview?!

Anyone hearing much from Dartmouth? its the first school I was complete at, and I really want to move to new hampshire, I wish they would invite me 🙂

How long has it taken Dartmouth to enter your letters of recommendation as received?
