So for the picture, do you think gluestick or tape or paperclip is better?

Epoxy!! Any will work, really, as long as it's neat. I think I used tape under the photo last cycle...

If you are sure you want to apply to GW no matter what happens with your retake then send your secondary in now. Some schools care about how long you take to submit your secondary (not sure about GW specifically though). If the schools know you are retaking then your application won't be looked at until your new score comes in and you are complete. They aren't lying about not considering your application until all your info is in. 🙂 Good luck with the retake!

well, also as i said, i don't exactly know yet what i'm doing this next year. it'll be a combo of working and taking classes, but i don't know what yet. i probably won't know for sure until early August. so on that question on the secondary, all i can say is "ill likely be doing this and that..." i guess i could put "i am doing this and that" and then later simply say the plans later changed. i mean, for classes you may be taking, ppl drop and add classes at the beginning of the semester all the time, right?

also, they won't receive my LORs till end of july/early august, either, since that's when my school's committee sends them out. so what's the point in submitting the secondary now if it won't be fully complete?

Sorry if I was unclear. Some schools care about how long you take to submit your secondary so people recommend then you get them in as soon as you can, even if other parts of your application aren't ready when you send it in.

Sumbitted my app yesterday ("in line" to be verified) and got the secondary today... it definitely makes me feel like I'm getting swindled out of $125 since they seem not to care who they give their secondary to, but there's nothing I can do about it.

Also, on their "helpful hints" section it says to:

I could but it wouldn't look close to as nice... and would take a while. I'm not near a scanner. Also, I did both the tape and the paperclip cuz I didn't know if they planned on taking the pic off and putting it on the front of my file or leaving it on the app. if the former: they can remove the tape and use the paperclip, if the latter: leave as is. Also, I didn't mean that I would fold it, but that they could if they really needed to see the first 3 lines of the secondary that they wrote (to clarify, it is covering the typed first 3 lines, not the first 3 lines of my information. My info is clear and uncovered.). Thanks for the response, and I know I'm being anal, but I really don't want something this stupid screwing with my chances.

AHHHHH!!!! 😱😱😱 I just filled out this whole application twice (including re-entering all my classes and re-writing the essay) only to have Adobe decide to shut down before I could print it! I'm so frustrated! Why can't you save the dang thing?? Anyone know what I can do to fix it? Should I just go try to find a different computer? I am running Adobe Reader 8 on an intel Macbook Pro.

I think GW has on their website that says if it's labeled as "writing intensive" on your transcript, then it's acceptable.

Yes. Upper div, lower div, doesn't matter. It's just to make sure that you have fulfilled their requirements.

please use the general courses to fulfill the pre-requisite requirements."

Yea I read that post too but I called and I'm telling you what they told me. I honestly don't think it matters. If you wanna call and be the third opinion, go for it. Went through a few menus but didn't have to wait to talk to someone and they're pretty friendly.

If you are running on Mac, try opening the PDF in preview. I think you can save it then 🙂

You are a Godsend. Not only can you save it, the form is MUCH easier to fill out. I should have known the Mac version of the program would have been better than the non-mac version 🙄

Or, if you have room after putting your basic premed courses, can you put a higher level (say, Biology) course if there is still a blank, so you can get a better grade onto the sheet? I definitely don't see why not, but maybe they will... we need a third check. Maybe next week I will call.

Heh, I did the opposite and matched it to AMCAS since that is what they are going to have access to, not my university's transcript. Dont think it matters much though so dont sweat it.

yeah....so, im prob. going to put one semster of Gen Bio. and then either Neurobio or Genetics.

Like someone else said, I'm sure we're overthinking all of these little things. I just spent like 5 minutes choosing which photo I want to use! They probably don't think twice about it when reviewing our apps.

I think you guys are all overthinking entering courses -- they're going to see your AMCAS/all your courses and go off the overall and science GPA in your application. You can't "hide" a grade or enter harder classes to make yourself appear like a better candidate in the secondary.

omg....it doesnt freakin matter, dont have an aneurysm....Just put down the first 2 or 3 bio courses that you took.
