Darn, I can't even check the status of my application. I've sent in all my materials for quite some time now too and really anxious to see if I am complete!
 
Soo...where is the status page exactly??? I just have the link for the secondary, which I submitted over a week ago...
 
Now it says "Your current status is: Your application is currently under review."

So confusing... I wonder if they didn't mean to tell us that we were on hold so soon? They usually send out the hold notices in groups.

I'm guessing that's what happened.

I would call and ask, but I don't think they would tell us if they made a mistake and we were going to eventually be put on hold. 🙂

I think they probably did just mess up the messages. I got the app complete email on 7/14 and the hold message on 7/15. That's too quick of a turnaround.
 
my hold status noticed changed back to under review
 
Did anyone coming from a school with the quarter system come up short when converting quarter units to semester units? I took two 4.0 quarter unit gchem courses and one 3.0 quarter unit gchem lab at ucla. When I convert these to semester units, I got 7.4 semester units, which just happens to be 0.6 semester units short of the 8 required. Am I just splitting hairs here, or is this going to bite me in the ass? Can I use a biochem course to fill that 0.6 semester unit gap?

im not sure whether you are "splitting hairs" or not but using biochem should be fine for the chem requirement...my school only offers one semester of gen chem, so i fulfilled my chem requirement with a semester of gen chem and a semester of biochem
 
I went ahead and emailed gwu admissions yesterday and this is what they told me about the Chemistry requirement:

"We are looking for 1 full year of both lecture and lab in General Chemistry. If this has been completed, we will accept whatever your credits are. We do not ever accept biochemistry for any of our pre-requisite classes.

GW Medical Admissions Counselor"

Hopefully that helps someone else!
 
I sent my app along with LORs about 2 weeks ago. however, my status says:

"We have received your secondary application to the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. If you have not done so already, please send us your letter of recommendation. If we require any further docomentation, we will contact you."

Should I email them if they have received my letter? How long do they usually process app+LORs?

That is really bad news for me. I've only taken gen chem and biochem for the chem requirement. Oh well I already sent in the secondary so we'll see what happens...

My secondary and LORs were mailed to them on 7/1. I got the email saying my secondary was received on 7/8, but I didn't get the email saying that my letters were received and my application was complete until 7/14. I would wait a little longer before contacting them.
 
I'm not sure what I'll be doing this year, I already graduate.

Is it ok if I put what I THINK I'll be doing. For example, I want to volunteer abroad, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to..can I put this down?

I received an email last week saying that my secondary was received - I also checked the status page on the website and confirmed this. However, when I logged into the status page today, it said that my secondary had NOT been received.

I'm guessing that it's just a glitch in the system. 😕 Anyone else having issues?

No, that's normal... the status page is updated weekly.
 
Anyone one know when they start making the first interview offers/ have the first interviews? I'm really excited about GW and I'm getting itchy!

Yep I did. Idk what time of the week they update it, hopefully fixed soon.
 
Hey all,

Some questions:

1) Two or three weeks for returning secondaries isn't too bad right?
2) For the picture, I read from previous post that most of you are either glueing or stapling. My idea was to load the pic on to my computer and pasting it directly on to the app. When I print my app, the photo will be right on it. Is that okay? My concern is that the adcom wants to detach the picture and do something to it...

Last I checked (granted, it was probably 2 weeks ago) I was "complete and ready for review"

No. But why don't you just call them? That is what it says to do.
 
Mine still says they are waiting for my MCAT. What day do they update the site? They've had my score for almost two weeks now.

I think their site is just really messed up.

The same thing happened to me, but now it says that they have my application. But this was after I decided to hit the "new user" link and get a new password (I have no idea why I did this, it was 2 in the morning, and I wasn't thinking straight). I'm not suggesting that you do that - it's probably better to call.
 
Yep, called first thing this morning. They said they are having some problems with the status page and that I am still under review.

Looks like from last year's threads that there should be a big chunk of interview invites going out early next week, right? On 8/02 last year a bunch of people received them.

I got an email saying they received my secondary last wednesday, i got an email saying i was complete today.. but my status is that they havent received my secondary yet!!??!?

should i call them to clarify or hold on a bit longer?

Just wait, they got your secondary, and you obviously are complete since you got an email. The status page takes up to a week to update.
 
Yep, they update it weekly. Seems to me the e-mails arrive during one weekly update (Sundays or Mondays it looks like) and the next weekly update your status page will be updated.

Can someone explain why he can get complete in 3 days and it has been over 2 weeks and I am still not complete?

Probably sent his letters in via a different method or at a different time.

My status page went back to "under review." I see that and sit there imagining them sitting around talking about my application... it makes me want to jump into the room and put in a good word for myself :scared: But really, I just want a GWU interview very badly! Any other big-time GW fans out there?
 
Been over 2 weeks since everything has been received and I've emailed them a couple of times...I don't see why they can't mark me as complete. ...:scared:

I bet that's a great feeling!! If only my pre-med committee would start writing my composite letter...🙁
 
It's about time! I'm complete!...I didn't even call them.

Considering GW was the first secondary I completed, I'm quite surprised it took soo long. 😱
