Then don't apply - its 130 bucks too. If you don't want to go there, it should be a pretty easy decision.

I'm finally under review!!!! I submitted my application on Friday, July 18th so I'm pleased to be under review already.

Does anyone know when the first round of interviews are? Has anyone that's been under review heard anything yet? I'm so nervous!

Good Luck to you all!! :luck::luck:

Been under review since the 16th (after an apparently erroneous hold message on the 15th) and haven't heard anything. I don't know when the are going to send out their 1st batch of interview invites.

I've been on hold for about the same amount of time. I wish they would get on with it! Not that I am going to get an early invite, but whatever. Some action of any kind would be nice.

I haven't taken 2 "english" classes yet, what should I do? Sign up for one this fall?

I have 1 called Writing and Love, but no second writing-specific course other than Law & Ethics, Athenian Democracy or Political Thinkiners.

Any suggestions?

Looks like it should be any day now. Last year it was august 2nd. It seems like the status update emails keep coming on sundays, so maybe tomorrow?

I completed on 7/15, and mine still says

"Your application is currently under review."

Is this normal? What is the HOLD message say?

The hold message was ""Your application is complete and currently on hold to be re-reviewed at a later date. Updates to your file are encouraged at this time."

Your message is the normal "under review" message that everyone who is complete seems to have right now.

I was complete on 7/10/08 and still have not been reviewed, anyone else with similar status?

What is your specific interest in the MD Program at GW? What opportunities would you take advantage of as a student here?
I know that I have to have my own answer, but does anyone know what is more appropriate? What opportunities do they offer?
And if anyone’s using fee waiver, please let me know how should I do it?

what does your status say, exactly?

How do you know you haven't been reviewed?

I don't know how you can tell online, but when I called they said mine was in line for review.

GWU is rolling right? even though they haven't sent out the first batch of invites, would it be considered late if I submitted it within the next 5 days? At this point, I'm not sure it'd be worth it to fill this out considering how 13000 apply to this school, and probably 5000 have already completed it by now.

I got an email this morning inviting me for an interview at GW; my interview day is September 19th. :soexcited:

Something must be weird with their online status site because it says that I am still in line to be reviewed. I have yet to even have the "under review" note. By the way, I was complete on 07/25 (they notified me by email).

Good luck to everyone applying, I hope to have SDN company on this interview : )

Yay! Congrats! It's nice to see that some people with an MCAT below 45 and a GPA below 3.99 are getting interviews now!

Good luck on the 19th!

I shall be joining you guys on the 19th as well. Where are you going to stay - they didn't mention anything about medical student hosts.

So lets get a hotel together or something.

Got an interview invite for the 16th, see u all there. I was complete 7/10 i believe. Good luck

I got my email today as well. I was complete on 7/16, interview scheduled for 9/16. EMT, what time are you scheduled for?

The schpeal about the "Blind Interview" was interesting.. I'm not sure if that's good because then they don't know about my GPA, etc. or bad because the questions are much more open-ended with nothing to go off of. I'm not sure I know how to answer "Tell me about yourself" from scratch.. I need practice!

I guess I'll be staying at the Capitol Hilton because I called a couple other hotels and they were booked.

You should look into a couple of hotels over in Rosslyn... I'd recommend the Virginian Suites... Good prices and really big rooms... The hotel is right next to the Rosslyn metro stop, and from there it is one stop away from Foggy Bottom (where George Washington is)...

Might be able to save a few bucks!

Any more suggestions for cheaper hotels? I just called all the hotels on the website link they sent, and all were $200+ a night... 😱 One of them told me they were normally $529 a night, but with the GWU discount it was only $329!

Havent gotten an invite yet, but I am glad I live in the Metro area so I wont have to pay those costs.

I would look for hotels in the Northern Virginia area right outside of DC. They tend to be a bit cheaper but you will have to fight traffic to get into the metro area the morning of your interview. Make sure to allow plenty of time for that.

+1 If I'm fortunate enough to receive an interview, I will take the MARC Penn Line with my monthly ticket and use my Smartrip card to metro in from Union Station. 😀

Should try and Metro it... The GW medical school is RIGHT next to the Foggy Bottom metro stop....

Good call. I just didn't want to worry about unfamiliar DC traffic, so I was looking up the ones within a couple blocks walking distance. I'll call some Northern Virginia ones today.

go to the FAP website
login
go to the page that says you have been approved for the FAP
print it off
attach it to your application
you're done

Got one at the Doubletree Crystal City for $107. Thank you SDN 🙂

Good call - I didn't even think about that and it makes perfect sense to do this.

Awesome price. Some of the hotels around Crystal City are super nice. Be careful of parking there, though - I once stayed at the Marriott Crystal City and had to pay like $25 for overnight parking. 🙁

Flying in, so I won't have to worry about it.

does anybody know which day of the week gwu updates their status page?

Alright, so I know most of you have already gotten the message that "your application is currently under review," but I just got it, and I am stoked. I submitted my secondary mid-July and I'm excited that they are finally getting around to looking at it! Anyways, for those of you whom have already gotten interview invites, about how long after you got this status update did you get the invite? Just curious!

i was complete july 31, changed to under review august 4, invited to interview august 8

If you are *not *attending school full-time during the *entire *2008-2009 school year, please indicate activities, coursework, employment, or other occupations for that period to account for full-time involvement. *Please restrict your answer to three lines. *

i'm a rising senior...am i suppose to leave this blank or just include activities im doing while in school?

since it says NOT in school... and you will be.... simple.

unless you're graduating early.

Actually, it was pretty weird for me in that I never had the under review message. I went directly from one saying I was in line to be reviewed to one that now says that a decision on my application has been sent by email. Therefore, it was a bit of a surprise (a good one though) and it probably varies widely.

Is it bad if I am not getting the status emails every week?
