uh guys.. i dont know if this is good or bad but i never had final decision pending before.. i went from under review to interview on the status and now after my interview, my status says Final Decision Pending - All final decisions will be sent on March 3rd. .

I'm assuming there's something wrong with the system...
Mine went from under review to status unavailable. I call them to ask what's up, and it goes back to under review.

Yikes! ar2388 doesnt make a compelling case for us who have the "final decision pending" message and are interviewless.🙁

Is there ANYONE out there who has received an interview despite their status page displaying "final decision pending..."?

I think you guys need to just stop checking your status so obsessively.

I have Final Decision Pending - All final decisions will be sent on March 3rd. . post interview. I remember it changing to all sorts of things pre-interview (I think i mentioned it a few pages back). Don't obsess over it all =)

Hey Guys,

So I just called the admissions office and asked about the "Final Decision Pending" status. The lady on the phone told me that it DOES NOT mean you were rejected. It means your application was sent to the admissions committee for evaluation. If a decision is made to offer you an interview, you should hear back from NYU within (and I quote) "a couple weeks to a month" after first seeing the "final decision pending" status. Otherwise, you can assume a rejection and will be notified on March 3rd.

Yea, it seems so. It's kind of nice having that much choice. I can schedule the interview around my exams and not the other way around! Though I imagine it's first come first served, so we should call soon.

If that is the case, then I think you are on hold. A lot of people here who were complete after you received the "Final Decision Pending..."

In that case, I'm starting to think that Final Decision Pending = rejection.

The time frame they gave me is essentially all of November, and like other posters have said it appears that you can schedule for any day of the week.

I remember that on Nov 4th (election day) and Nov 11th (vetran's day) you can't schedule an interview.

i am looking into renting an apartment for the weekend (since i'm going with my bf)- i've looked on craigslist and found places (furnished, no additional fees) for $190-$250/night. in comparison to most of the hotels i looked up on NYU's list (and everywhere else in manhattan!!) it seems very reasonable. i found a job and roommate on craigslist, so i have the faith 😀

That's a really good idea, didn't even know you could do that. I think I"ll probably end up staying at an old friend of mine's apartment. It may just be a couch, but nothing beats free!

They said they were going to start notifying acceptances earlier than March this year.
They didn't set a date or anything but said it might be sometime in January.
Three more months!

Here's to clearing up some myths....

1) I interviewed there already and they said that they were potentially sending out very few decisions in December this year but the dean hadn't decided yet whether or not they were going to do that. Basically, there's a very slim chance you'll hear in December if you already interviewed, but it's not bad if you don't hear anything.

2) I got an interview invite on a Wednesday, so they don't just go out on Mondays.

3) Post interview my status changed to Final Decision Pending (it was previously under review, then interview invite, then Final Decision Pending).

I just checked my status...it said "final decision pending" I have not gotten a interview invite....so...i guess that means rejection :-(
