Same thing here. Whoever wrote the e-mail must have a really cruel sense of humor. They must want to get back at all the applicants calling to ask when decisions are coming out. And the biggest thing is, the way it shows up in GMail with the beginning of the first sentence visible made me hyperventilate even more.
 
It's a good thing I checked this thread before I checked my email 😀
 
Is UC Davis still sending out interview invites?? It already mid-Feb and they barely started interviewing in dec.

If UC Davis keeps to its self-imposed deadline of "the end of February," then the first acceptances will be going out within the next two weeks :scared:
 
with their track record, i wouldn't be surprised if decisions get pushed back to the end of march!
 
Doesn't the AAMC require that schools accept enough applicants to fill their class by March 15? If so, then even if they're delayed, we'll be seeing quite a lot of acceptances before then.

I think the school gets fined if that happens, so might not be that big of a deal to them if the fine isnt that big.
 
where's the UC love?!??!? what is davis doing anyway...
 
I desperately want an invite. Should I send them an "in the area e-mail" before I go home for spring break (not to Sacramento, but SF Bay Area is closer than LA!) ?
 
Anyone else just get an email from them entitled "test" with the contents "tesat"?😳
 
up to 10 wks!! This has got to be one of the longest post interview waits. Lets hope this "test email" indicates they have things up and working and February interviews won't actually have to wait that long.

neone have ne tips about interviewing? I've looked thru the interview feedback already. So it's one faculty and one student both open file? Thanks!

There is also a third "interview" in a group setting with the dean.
 
hey guys, thanks so much for the heads up, the 'third' interview, does he ask a lot of questions? or just the standard one 'why medicine?' besides the other general information? thanks again!

Its more like a "getting to know the applicant" type thing than an actual interview. Its like 5 or 6 applicants with the dean and everyone introduces themselves and talks about what you are currently doing and a little about why medicine, and then he asks you questions based on your responses.

another thing i would recommend is bringing a watch/cell phone because you have to watch your time. ed (from admissions office) tells you it's basically your responsibility to keep track of time and where you have to be.

my faculty interviewer definitely didn't care about time, and since i felt rude taking my cell phone out i didn't check... i ended up being 30 minutes late to my med student interview/lunch. luckily she didn't mind, but hopefully you will be able to avoid the same situation!

The group interview with Dr. Henderson is definitely important as a part of your overall evaluation. Especially if your other 2 interviewers give conflicting feedback about you. So take it just as seriously as the other two.
 
sorry to bump this thread up but i am kind of freaking out. so i interviewed at davis in january, but i didn't complete the english requirement yet. i took a writing intensive course, a comparative literature course, and now i am taking an english course this quarter. however, i called the admissions office, and they seem to only take courses that are in comparative literature, classics, and english. also, on their website they said the requirements must be finished by january of the desired year of entry.

now i'm not sure of my writing intensive course/seminar counts anymore.... or if davis will accept me based on my incomplete premed requirements anyway... did everyone else finish their premed requirements/know how strict davis is with their requirements? thanks!

i am glad at least that i can just take classes next quarter. the requirements had said i had to be complete by january... and considering it's february i thought i had no chance. thanks for letting me know!
 
still no acceptances, huh? for some reason, i really thought that today was the day that we were going to hear something. it's been over 10 weeks, what's a few more, right?

I was hoping today would be the day. The wait goes on. We'll see if they come through on trying to get the acceptances for December out by next Friday.
 
I interviewed this wk and they said no acceptances have been sent and they plan on finishin interviews in march (from Ed). Good luck everyone.

March??? They only started in December, and they're finishing in less than four months (taking holidays and breaks into account)? Wow. Well, I guess it's definitely possible, but it's the shortest interview season out of any med school I know... Then again, they seem to be interviewing almost every day instead of just on select days in the month.
 
Got a phone call today, I'm accepted to PRIME! Dr. Hilty said I'll be getting something in the mail (email? snail mail? I don't remember now) in a few days/next week?

I don't remember much of the convo come to think of it...!!! 😀

Congratulations! Hopefully that means that some of the regular acceptances will be rolling out here shortly.
 
Nina, on which day did you interview?

Nope my status page hasn't been updated. I got a phone call and was told that I'll be getting something in the mail somewhat soon. I interviewed early December...

Congrats Nina! Does anyone know if there are still invites going out. It never seemed like that many went out to begin with...and they started so late. It doesn't make sense that they are almost done interviewing.

I have a feeling that tomorrow may be the day. 11 weeks is a long time to wait!
 
good luck davydude, i wish you the best for your top choice! UC Davis surprised me a lot when I visited, I have a new appreciation for the school.

Seriously!! Davydude since we interviewed the same day, here's to hoping we'll both get into our top choice school on the same day... it could happen.:xf:
 
Phew...I just got back from my 8th and last scheduled interview just now, and UC Davis is still my #1! I have a feeling this week will either be 🙂 or 🙁...

If not tomorrow, then maybe Friday...that's the day that I think people were mostly getting calls last year.

Hmmm, looks like another quiet day. I guess when Ed said the end of Feb he really meant the absolute end.
 
Seriously! This wait is killing me. I was in their very first interview group of the year and still haven't heard. I hope it's this week. Davis was a great school! Anyone else getting obsessive about checking their e-mail? I wonder if we'll get phone calls or just e-mails (I'm not PRIME).
