what are the statistics for acceptance, post interview?

Do you have to wait for an email in order to check your status at WF? If not, where do you get the login information (i.e. EmplID and application number)? Thanks!

heather !?

ugh, maybe it's because i submitted my primary too late to wake forest that i got rejected pre-secondary! oh well, g'luck to everyone else

me too. rejected pre-secondary.

meh. boo. hiss.

It has been about 2 weeks since I submitted my amcas and still haven't heard from wake. How long did it take them to contact you all?

10 days for me! Now I'm extremely nervous that I'll hear (probably) my first post-sec rejection or an interview invite in the next 1-2 weeks! Hopefully the latter 😀

I just got the "you are complete" email today. How long does it usually take Wake to give you an interview or reject you, or does this vary?

So I got my interview invite today, guys. Anyone interviewing on October 3rd? Either way, good luck to all you guys applying.

Just to give ya'll fellow interviewees a heads up:

As per the wake website for the 2007 entering class:

7485 applied
501 interviewed (6.6% 😱)

Of the 501, 276 accepted (55% 😍)

I just had a little shiver looking at those numbers actually. Good luck again, guys.

can someome please explain what

"All materials necessary to complete your secondary application have been received. Once recommendation letters are received and entered in, you will be sent an e-mail notification that your application file is complete.  If your recommendation letters have already been sent to us, please allow 2-3 weeks from when we receive your Signature page and fee for processing of the letters."

......so I am complete or not. wtf

No not yet. There is another msg after that one. I am unsure as to what this means, but I think it means they got your mailed piece, but havent DLed your LoRs yet. It took ~3 days for mine to change.

Ok, so it went from "your app is under review, plz wait 1-2 weeks" to

Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview.

So no email at this point=PI hold?

woo hoo....status page says i'll get a secondary in 2 weeks.

Is it OK to send in my LORs now or should I wait? What did other people do?

Is it starting to take longer for them to review the AMCAS application?

On the status page they are no longer saying to expect to hear within two weeks.

I just got an e-mail today saying they got my primary... they sent this message... in the e-mail it said: "Your application for the next entering class has been received from the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). Our office will contact you when further information is required."

is that bad or does it just mean they haven't looked at it yet? Also, is anyone else having problems with the status web site? I tried to sign on and it says it does not recognize the application number.

I got the same email today, so I am hoping it is standard. A couple of times I have had to try the login more than once before it works, I think other people have had the same problem.

It is standard, it means you are being screened.

Anyone have an answer regarding the "application complete" status w/ no interview invite=PI hold?

hey,

Good luck to those who are being interviewed and/or waiting for updates...if you have any questions or need advice just let me know!

It truly is a wonderful school and I am very happy here as a student!!

Their interview style is very unique...so make sure you read the interview feedback section..

I'm not sure what PI hold means but I am thinking that they might currently be processing the bulk of this years applications. This might be why they have stopped telling applicants to expect their AMCAS to be reviewed within two weeks.

Its just a thought, I'm not basing it on anything. It might be worth a phone a call.

wtf is a PI hold? what is PI?

Let's see..I got the office will contact you when further information is required on primary on July 7th, got the secondary on July 11th, got the 'complete' email on July 24th, got the invite August 20th.

So, it took quite a bit, although I was one of those early early applicants..for a while there I thought they'd just rejected me.

Hey, Guys,
I just got the following message from my status page:

Your AMCAS application has been evaluated and we are sending you our secondary application by e-mail. Please allow 2 weeks for the application to be sent to you as we send them out in batches.

Does this guarante a secendary? Thanks.

Yes, it means you passed their initial screen.

Congrats 🙂

Sorry, PI=pre-interview, so a PI hold means they didnt select for interview/didnt reject either.

While that is a good theory, I had the 1-2 week message until todya that said they were "reviewing" my application, now it just says it is "complete" with no mention of review, so I am unsure as to how I should interpret this.

I got the same message. It's confusing because it makes it seem like we will get a interview or rejection within 1-2 weeks, but if you look at the "complete" email that they sent, it says "If you have not heard by April, you will receive notification of your status at that time." It's still pretty vague, but makes it seem like they just may take more than 1-2 weeks.

Have any of you guys gotten the status message

"You will be receiving notification of your application status by e-mail." ?

That's all it says..Last week it said that 1-2 week message thing, and now just this...

You mean that is what yous says post-secondary? I dont have that message, I have the "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview." one.

Maybe that means post-sec rejection and ours means hold? Or maybe it jsut means that their status system is arbitrary, who knows.

oh didn't give enough info sorry..

I'm still waiting for the secondary.
AMCAS was verified in the beginning of July but I didn't take the MCAT til 7/8. Scores came in a few weeks ago

i'm sorry that doesnt bode too well for you Dale. if you get a secondary, it will say "you will be getting a secondary in the mail, we send them out in batches, blah blah"

your status is indicative of a pre-secondary rejection. sorry :/

🙁

That's what I thought, but I was hoping maybe I was just being too pessimistic..
with 3.55 at an Ivy and a 35 MCAT...no secondary??? 🙁

How many people who get secondary's get an interview at Wake?

I think if you look at last years Wake thread, you will see that Wake screened out a lot of "high number" people...even pre-secondary. No one could figure out a pattern to it at all.

I don't think there are any lack of people with high stats at most schools, so everyone has to bring other things to the plate as well. Best of luck!

I don't remember the stats exactly. But I do know that if you get an interview, you chances of getting in are pretty good, especially if you interview in Fall sometime. I interviewed with 6 people late November, 4 of us got in.

According to US News report in 2007 of the students interviewed they accepted roughly 50-55%. Good luck on your interviews there, I'm still waiting to hear post secondary...

According to some data I picked up around here, 500 interview and 120 are accepted.

They interviewed 600 last year and are planning on interviewing the same amount this year. I believe they accepted somewhere around 200 (maybe a few more) of the people they interviewed, obviously some off the wait list.

As far as secondaries go, I have no idea how many they screen out to begin with. Even if they screened half pre-secondary, that is still 3750 applicants competing for 600 interviews competing for about 200 acceptances.

They notify you very quickly of your status after you interview (accepted or waitlisted). Which I thought was great.

I think this is what you are looking for: http://more.studentdoctor.net/interviewlist.php?school=147

I am also a 1st year here at Wake, and I absolutely love it. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. Best of luck at your interviews, hopefully I'll get the chance to meet some of you when you come out to Winston-Salem.

Just wondering, exactly how quick of a turn around was it for accepted or waitlisted after the interview? Thanks!

Well, if you interview before October 15th, then you may have to wait a while since that is the first official notifcation date unless you did the early decision thing (or whatever it is called).

Otherwise, I think their adcom meets at least once a month to accept or waitlist the people who interviewed since their last meeting. They then immediately send out notification on your status. So, I interviewed like a week before the next adcom meeting and thus found out in about a week and a half what my status was.

I guess the maximum amount of time you would wait after you interview to find out your status would be about a month. And that would be if you were to interview right after the adcom had its monthly meeting.

I interviewed at some schools that didn't even notify anyone in the class until late March, even though I interviewed 6 months before...that is extremely lame.
