Waitlisted...anyone know how people on the waitlist usually do?
My interviewer mentioned that they do quite well. She said the hardest part is getting an interview.

wait list here as well. 🙁 loved the school!
Glad to hear they have waitlist movement. Does anyone know if they put EVERYONE who interviews (and is not accepted) on the wait list?
To waitlisters, do you know how we address the person whom we are supposed to email about our desire to stay on the waitlist? It says Filomena Zani but is that a Dean? Do we simply write "Dear Dean Zani"? thoughts?
they have to do pretty well-brown only interviews like high200's of students right? their website says they accept about half the people they interview, including those accepted off the waitlist. so that means like 140 or so students are accepted overall. they probably accept like 70 to 80 off the bat, since their class is comprised of about 40 standard admits. and so its likely tht just as many peopel are eventually accepted off the wait list as are immediately acceptanced. this is entirely speculative, but it sounds about right to me...
Your calculations sound nice, but I'm almost positive you're forgetting to account for the 70 or so PLMErs that must interview with the committee but are shoe-ins.
I'm pretty sure they only have about 40 or so PLMEs for a class of 96...that's what a member of the faculty said on interview day at least.
Any updates? This thread has been silent for almost a month now!!!
I have an interview here next month. I am really nervous, because my interviews as a whole have not gone very well, any suggestions for here?
A friend of mind just got an interview invite to brown on Tuesday (11/19)
My app's still marked as "in process". Let the twiddling of thumbs continue!
At the interview they lead us to believe the next round of decisions goes out on Feb. 5th.

I really agree with JonnyD33. This was by far my best interview, and my interviewers seemed to be matched according to my interests/past experiences. We had the whole morning to relax and ask questions, eat breakfast and lunch, take a tour, and THEN have our interviews. I mean I know it is hard to relax when all you can think about are the impending interviews, but Barbara Fuller, the financial aid staff, the medical students, and everyone else there seemed so much friendlier than at any of the other schools I interviewed at (this was my 6th interview).
My advice would be to really figure out why you love Brown, RI, why you want to be a doctor, what you do for fun, and what you would tell your interviewer to tell the panel to convince them to accept you. These seemed to be the main things that were talked about in my interviews and I really don't remember getting asked any questions that didn't hit on these basic concepts. I personally didn't get any questions on healthcare or "have you ever been in a group where you had a difficult member? how did you handle that situation?" or "if you could be a fruit what would you be?" I did have those at other interviews but that was not the type of interview I had at Brown. It was a conversation that I basically had to explain why I was the ideal candidate for not only medical school but specifically Brown.
I hope this helps! Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.
Also, I got accepted and am definitely going to Brown next year it was my first choice 🙂
JonnyD33, if you would go to Brown above other schools if you were accepted, then the admissions committee would probably like to know that if you haven't told them already. A follow up letter of intent that emphasizes your love of Brown (where you can just reiterate why you love Brown and why Brown is school where you will thrive) can possibly help you off the waitlist. I think the big fear of an admissions committee is that they accept someone that decides to reject them for another school, so if they know you want them in return then they may take you instead of someone else in the end. As long as it is a sincere and polished letter, I do not think it can hurt you to show them how much you want it and are willing to fight. Also it keeps your name fresh in their mind.
You may have already done this too, but maybe someone else can benefit from this suggestion.
Is the interview season over for Brown?
waitlist is not ranked
I mean it's possible it's ranked, but when I asked barbara, she said that everyone on the wailist gets reviewed when spots open up, that doesn't sound to me like it's a ranked waitlist.
I just interviewed last week and Barbara explicitly said the wait list is not ranked - they say it is not helpful for them in the process to rank so they don't!
