Have any interview invites gone out recently?
I still haven't heard from CCLCM. I applied to both concurrently. For people who have gotten UP pre-interview hold and also applied to CP, when did you hear back from CP (after/before/same time as UP pre-interview hold)?
yeah same thing going on here. all you can do is be patient.Similar situation - complete for 9+ weeks, though I haven't been put on hold; contacted Case admissions through iApply and was told they were waiting on a decision from CCLCM. Emailed them asking for a status update; response pending.... Nothing to do but wait some more, I suppose.
I'm in! 🙂 😍👍🙂

ACCEPTED this afternoon!!!!
Congrats!
I am on hold 🙁. I am surprised I never got an email telling me to check my status.
On hold as well 🙁

Sorry, guys. I have to go over to school tomorrow anyway. I'll see if I can find anything out for you about the progress of screening and sending out invites.yeah same thing going on here. all you can do is be patient.
I just want to vent to someone too about how I've been studying for Step 2 for all of four days, and I'm sick of it already. I'm 11% through this question bank that everyone on SDN swears by. I've been doing pretty well on the questions, and I have to admit that I'm learning a lot. It's just that learning can be so...painful sometimes. 🙁
I'm studying alone. Everyone takes Step 2 at all random times during an approximately two-year timespan, so I'm not even sure if any of my classmates are studying for it now. A bunch of them are out of town for their research years anyway. You don't see your classmates on a regular basis anymore after second year. That's not just a CCLCM thing. In general, everyone goes off and does different rotations after the second year of med school. Even if we were all doing Step 2 at the same time, I am not a group studier. I studied for Step 1 by myself too. 😳Just out of curiosity, do you feel alone on this one? Or did you put the word out to the other super-brainiacs at CCLCM? Did you convene a meeting of the Super Medical Student Friends at the CCLCM Hall Of Justice or are you studying alone?
I only recognize Superman, Wonderwoman, and Batman out of that crowd. Maybe I'll just be the dog. 😛And more importantly, if you were a CCLCM Super Medical Student Friend, which Super Friend would you be?
I know I missed a couple of you, but congratulations! Hope to see you in July.
Send us a letter! But remember, don't just stress how much you love Case--tell us why you fit in here and how you'd make this place rock that much harder.👍![]()
Accepted 🙂
In terms of the interview with the faculty member at CCLCM, will they be specific to your field of research or will they just ask you to talk about your research in general?
I've had research in different fields, but I'm more familiar with my more recent projects than ones I had 2 years ago. Just worried that they would question me about work done a long time ago compared to the past summer..
Thanks!

Awesome, congrats!^^I loved the students at Case. They're so friendly and helpful!
Also, I was accepted this evening 🙂
Congrats to you too! 😀But first interview offered at CCLCM! Incredibly thrilled about this, going to have to see when I can schedule for tomorrow during the day....
They will often try to have someone interview you who is familiar with your area of research, but that won't always happen. My advice is to review the stuff you did two years ago just in case. I didn't get asked about my old research at this interview, but I did get asked about it at another school. So it was good that I had re-read it!In terms of the interview with the faculty member at CCLCM, will they be specific to your field of research or will they just ask you to talk about your research in general?

Ok, I talked to Dean Franco, and the CCLCM screeners are pretty behind right now. She said that they are still working through the people who were complete in August. So, if you were complete at CCLCM in September or October, you probably still won't be hearing for a while. If you were complete in late August, hopefully you will be hearing soon. Also, they are about halfway done sending out invites for the year. The total number of people interviewed will be around 250. Hope this helps.Have any interview invites gone out recently?
I seem to recall my grade-school English teacher telling me that irregardless isn't a real word.Myuu said:You have committed a parenthetical grammar faux pas. I regret to inform you that I must now temporarily revoke your eggplant win and place you on hold until such time as adequate recompense is paid.
Not necessarily. They could just be used as synonyms and mean the same thing. There are other examples of words that sound like they are opposites but are used as synonyms, like flammable and inflammable. (The opposite of flammable is nonflammable.)Just fyi, irregardless for sure is not a real word, lol If someone can come up with a situation where the meaning of "irregardless" should be used instead of "regardless" that's when it'll be a real word, lol
Irregardless of what you people thing, I often like to sit in a cwm and eat herbs like sage, rosemary, and bananas.
Irregardless is not a word. It was added to the dictionary because enough people with a complete lack of understanding of what the prefix "ir-" means insist on using it at every possible opportunity.

Sort of like how the meaning of "peruse" has changed completely just through colloquial use.

A Lovely Poem of the English Language
________________________________
I take it you already know
Of tough and bough and cough and dough?
Others may stumble, but not you
On hiccough, thorough, slough, and through.
Well don't! And now you wish, perhaps,
To learn of less familiar traps.
Beware of heard, a dreadful word
That looks like beard but sounds like bird.
And dead: it's said like bed, not bead,
For goodness sake don't call it deed!
Watch out for meat and great and threat
(They rhyme with suite and straight and debt).
A moth is not a moth as in mother
Nor both as in bother, nor broth as in brother,
And here is not a match for there,
Nor dear and fear, for bear and pear.
And then there's dose and rose and lose--
Just look them up--and goose and choose
And cork and work and card and ward
And font and front and word and sword
And do and go, then thwart and cart,
Come, come! I've hardly made a start.
A dreadful Language? Why man alive!
I learned to talk it when I was five.
And yet to write it, the more I tried,
I hadn't learned it at fifty-five.
I have interviews for both the programs. Does it help at all, for my chances in one, if I also have an interview at the other? Do they even know?
Anyone want to kick themselves for signing up for too many things at school while juggling interviews?
That's me. Epic catastrophe...I'm considering interviewing during my finals week (not on the final exam days though...obviously!) so I can get in on the review before Dec 15 (CCLCM/UP) while not missing as much class.
How far away are the interviews scheduled? Are they up to December? (It's my first post of the thread and I'm not going to read through the insanity of this thread)
Unless someone on the forum has recently scheduled an interview and can chime in, I'll be in the admissions office tomorrow for interviews and will ask Ellen to find out. I'm kind of curious myself. If I had to guess though, I would say that there are likely very few slots available for December left. Also, if you wanted to be reviewed before the winter break, you'll have to interview no later than 12/8.
Is that true for CCLCM and UP? I'm coming up in-between 12/8 and 12/15. Not making the cut makes driving to Cleveland during finals much less appealing.
Anyone know, what's the last interview month? Thanks.
Depends on how quickly applicants are interviewed. I think they usually interview about 1000 applicants and that usually goes until late Feb. or so.
As iceman77_7 said, yes, CCLCM knows if you interview with the UP (and even if they accept you), and no, we don't care what those people down the street do.I have interviews for both the programs. Sorry, I couldn't tell you. Probably if you're scheduling both together, you'll be coming after the holidays. How far away are the interviews scheduled? Are they up to December? (It's my first post of the thread and I'm not going to read through the insanity of this thread)
Not for CCLCM. The first CCLCM subcommittee meeting is on Tuesday, December 15. Anyone who interviews up to that point, including Monday the 14th, can be considered on the 15th. I'm not sure if they have any interviews scheduled on the 17th and 18th, but if they do, those people would be up for consideration at the January subcommittee meeting. Is that true for CCLCM and UP? For CCLCM, it will be mid-to-late February.Anyone know, what's the last interview month? Thanks.
Are you post-interview or pre-interview hold? Sorry, I know you've posted this info already, but there are too many of you for me to keep track of everyone's status. 😳any suggestions on what to do if you were put on hold?
i feel like they accepted or put people on hold, but didnt really reject anyone

In general, CCLCM's adcomm considers all applicants up to and including the day of the meeting. Since the regular adcomm meetings are on alternate Thursday afternoons, if you interview on a Thursday when there's an adcomm meeting, the adcomm will review your file the same day you interviewed. As in, while you're in the little conference room listening to the financial aid presentation and watching the assessments movie, the adcomm is already meeting, and your file is up for a vote.
