Hey guys, long time SDN member yet first time poster here...

I was marked complete for the UP in mid September and still haven't heard back. Case is my first choice school by far, so I'm starting to get really anxious. If my iapply status is still blank does that mean they are still reviewing my app or do they just not post rejections on iapply pre-interview? Also, do you think it would help to send in a LOI or would that come off as desperate and as an annoyance?

I hear ya about the rejections, but usually atleast one person comes out and throws it out there. Mmmmmm hope they dont just hold everyone and reject us later 🙁

Another factor to keep in mind is that they only accept enough people throughout the interview season to fill their class. They want interview seats open for the entire interview season so no one is interviewing for a wait-list. Conversely, most private schools over accept during the interview season because they know people will withdraw.

I would try calling the office, actually. Ask about the status of your application.🙂

Oh. I thought one of the presenters mentioned that they keep spots open throughout the interview season and only accept enough to fill the class size. Then, after March they start accepting more people as others drop their spot. Maybe I got mixed up.

Spots are open throughout the season. They initially accept more than the class size though.

Post-interview holds do not get reviewed by the committee each time. Historically, Christian/Dr. Mehta review the holds in early Jan and accept some off of that group at that time.

I'm talking about post-interview rejections. It's so sick seeing people get news and still be stuck in limbo. I think through this process I've come to the conclusion that my conception of hell is purgatory.

I would like to send letter to Case about how much I love this school along with my updates but should i do it soon in which I don't have much to update them about besides extracurriculars, or should i wait until late december to send an update letter with my grades in?

Or do both? would that be too much. I love case and I want to show them that.

I think Myuu said up there somewhere that timing is not that important, though it's probably beneficial to have it in before your file is re-reviewed (to my best knowledge, hold apps are re-reviewed in January, someone correct me if I'm wrong). For updates I would not talk about anything except really major changes/accomplishments.

This has been discussed quite a number of times within this thread. The two offices operate functionally independently with respect to application review/admitting students. Rejection at one has no bearing on your application at the other. Both schools look for different things. Plenty of people in this thread have already discussed not being offered an interview at either program, and ultimately being accepted at the other.

You can, but you should call Ellen and ask to get scheduled for a morning faculty and early student interview.

Hello all (and perhaps more specifically CCLCMer),

I know it has been said numerous times that CCLCM does not use iapply for decisions. Does that also apply for withdrawals? I decided to beat my impending rejection to the punch and sent them my notice of withdrawal through the medium provided on iapply. Is there a alternate/better way to do this?

It applies for everything. Iapply does not even exist in the CCLCM universe. If you want to withdraw, contact the admissions office directly.

Wait until you get your financial aid before withdrawing anywhere. In the end, Case/CCLCM wound up being cheaper than my state school (and this was before CCLCM went tuition-free).

Call them to get your exact schedule. I had a 5:35 flight and made it to my terminal with 15 minutes to spare.

I think most of the frequent posters had decisions on their file, so they don't post here that often.

It sounds like alot of the people who interviewed with Dr. Mehta and the admissions admin guy got the acceptances. This kinda makes me wonder if getting them would give you an advantage.
