I got a missed call from area code 216 when I went out to lunch today. I thought it was the CCLCM calling, and I got really excited (and I wondered why they'd call the day before their meeting).

When I got back to lab, I looked up the number on google and it's a bank scam. :lame:

LOL oh man i got a phone call from a private number just now and there was a very nice lady on the other line and i got really nervous thinking its my first acceptance..

Paki20: "Hello?"

Nice lady: "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii is this paki20!?!?!"

my heart started pounding

Paki20: "yess speaking.."

Nice lady: "Am I pronouncing it correctly???"..

omg omg omg..

Paki20:"yessss just perfectly...."

Nice lady: "Okay great..wellllllllllllllll im calling to let you know about a promotional offer from Verizon......"

dial tone

poor nice lady i was pretty rude for hanging up but for some reason i thought (i.e. was hoping) it was either Mayo or Cleveland Clinic since both are sending out acceptance calls this week..sad lol

CCLCM interview today. Absolutely awesome. Case tomorrow, hopefully thats good as well, but CCLCM left QUITE the impression.

Case and CCLCM people are wayyyyyy too nice. And I'm not just saying this. I think only 1-2 other schools I've been at are on the same level. 🙂

Hi All
I am interviewing at both UP and CCLCM this week on Thurs and Fri flying in Wed night and leaving Fri evening. I have written to some current students on the student host site over the past month but have either not recieved a reply or hosts are busy with exams. I would perfer to stay with a student host, :xf: but will hotel it. Does anyone have any good suggestions? I would like to get a current student perspective while I am in Cleveland.............
I will get back to you tomorrow.

OK so I need to reschedule that interview I missed (maybe get you again CCLCMer 😀)

What is the optimal time frame I'm looking at here for a date? Somewhere before the end of February? That'll put me in the same boat I was interviewing on the 22nd?
I would take whatever date is available and fits in with your schedule. We're coming up to the end of the interview season here, so it doesn't really matter.

Denise may already have someone new to interview you, but if you tell me when you reschedule, I'll try to stop by for lunch and/or wrapup that day. 🙂

Yes, tomorrow. Calls will definitely not be made before Thursday. Last time they went out on Friday, so they may not go out Thursday either. Hang in there, guys, and good luck to all of you who are waiting.

At least some of the people on hold will be considered tomorrow.

Glad you enjoyed it. I am the fourth year student who came in at the end of the lunch and was there at the wrapup. 🙂

Should I admit that I paid you to say that?

Stalker...looking for my address!

So is it a stipulation that in order to continue getting your scholarship, you have to convince an interviewee to say how much they like the school? 😛

This is a strange conversation we're having...

I don't think so. Well not in my case at least. My letter said they'd get back to me in April.

Yeah, same here. said wouldn't tell me anything until april, so i won't be looked at by the committee...🙁

the regular "hold." (CCLCM)
did it say april for most people who had only "hold" on their letter?

I rescheduled for Feb 11. I'll be the kid complaining about Southwest Airlines from San Diego 😎

Now I'm worried that CCLCM will e-stalk me and find out all my ... good qualities.

Strange conversations are the best kind. 👍

If I can convince an interviewee to say how much they like the school, I get a brand new car. I NEED a brand new car. Someone help me out here!

What is up with everyone talking about stalking today! Well, to be completely up front with you, Reggieray2k, I do actually know who you are, b/c the admissions office emails us the applicant's name and school when they schedule us to do an interview. But I promise I won't stalk you. 😛

Apparently, it's a slow day on the thread too...
Oh, it won't be slow later this week. 😉

The second CCLCM subcommittee meeting just started twenty minutes ago. :luck: :luck: :luck: to all of you who are waiting to hear.

Dean Franco has clinic tomorrow, so it will be Thursday evening at the earliest. AT THE EARLIEST. Meaning, it could be later than Thursday. I will try to get a more specific ETC (estimated time of calls), but it won't be today or tomorrow.

hey cclcmer..just out of curiosity..how many students are typically discussed at these subcommittee meetings and how long do these meetings take to complete?

So I just called the admissions office to inquire about the post interview hold status for the UP program and she said all the holds will be reviewed after the interview season was over. She told me the hold list is essentially a waitlist and not many people get off it. I am confused, as previous posts on this thread made it seem that it is quite common for people on the hold list to get accepted. Could someone clarify this for me and also why this year they are reviewing the holds in late February as opposed to in January like last year. Thanks.

I heard the same thing when I called. Wondering if they changed their process.

The CCLCM subcommittee meetings can last for up to five hours, from 12 PM to 5 PM. There's not a set number of people who get discussed during each meeting, as far as I know.

I interviewed at CCLCM in mid October..

But, I havn't received anything yet. No phone call. No e-mail. No snail mail. No nothing.. What's going on?

Wow, that sounds pretty intense.

For the love of ALL HOLDINESS! Give me a sign Case, reject me already even. But no more limbo please!

I would check with your parents or whatever other address you included on AMCAS. Everyone should have gotten some kind of a snail mail letter. If you're sure you didn't get one at any of your addresses, you might want to contact the admissions office and ask.

Wow, that sounds pretty intense.
Hey, nothing is too intense if it's for the applicants' sake. 😛

Still no news about when the next round of CCLCM calls are expected to go out. I'll let you guys know if/when I hear something.

Good questions. Also, if the post-interview hold list is essentially a wait list, why not call it a wait list and not string applicants along?

From Case's website:

"If you are placed in the Hold category the Admissions Committee will revisit your application later in the admissions cycle to determine whether to place you on the alternate list or close your application for the current cycle."

So does this mean that getting put on hold means that you aren't eligible for a straight acceptance anymore? I thought a hold was kind of a deferral on your decision, that they would reevaluate you for acceptance in the next meeting. But looking at this it seems like you will either be waitlisted or rejected if you've been put on hold.

yeah, like I posted here... looks like the hold can result in a rejection or waitlist, so I guess those on hold are not necessarily waitlisted just yet. I wonder- what is the motivation behind being selective with who goes on the waitlist. Mayo does the same thing I'm told

I just checked last year's thread and it looks like at least three people on SDN were accepted right out of hold around this time of year. Granted, Case started reviewing holds earlier last year, but it looks like us holds have a fighting chance come review time.

Of course, we could just be waitlisted or outright rejected, but I prefer not to think about that. Denial is a wonderful thing!

OMG, how confusing...but anything is better than a No! It at least allows me to string my hope out longer.

Albany had a weird one too, they put me on a pre-interview hold - what the heck is that? Isn't every application a pre-interview hold in a way? Oh well, it didn't really bother me much - but I really, really care about Case.

We do accept people who are on hold when we go to make that waitlist.

Glad I got to meet you then. I was the guy from Rochester, on the admissions office side of the table. Hopefully I end up back there in July! I have to put decisions out of my mind for a month though until I would be hearing back.

any update on when the calls might go out for cclcm? can't stop thinking abt it..

Right, those who are on hold are not necessarily waitlisted. Basically it means that the adcomm hasn't made a final decision about those apps yet. In other words, waitlist is a final decision (and so are acceptance or rejection), but hold means no final decision has been made yet.

Good luck. :xf:

Good luck on that! I swore I would too...lasted about 2 weeks. >_<
Two weeks is pretty impressive!

For those who are waiting to hear from CCLCM this week, I saw Dean Franco today, and she said that she will hopefully be making the calls tomorrow. But it's not definite. Good luck, you guys. If you get a call from the 216 area code, pick it up!
