Um yeah, so how about that Creighton?!?!? 😉

so no one else is having problems saving your essays in the application?

yeah, i am too. i think their server is down or something. it probably will be fine by monday.

lol I'm not particularly into self-dating, I don't care to pay for myself, talk to myself, then date rape myself. thank you though lol

hah I kept seeing your posts in all the schools I'm applying to also and wondered if it was actually you

lol way to make a new name just to say that 😛
who are you really!

Wow. Creepy. Thanks for killing the thread, team!

hahah no problem!

ok real question: for the picture did you guys just use any random picture that looked good or did you actually take one for applications?

So, just how religious is this school? That's a huge turnoff for me. I want a completely secular medical education.

I took a passport photo in Costco.

If you want a completely secular institution and you know that Creighton is affiliated with the Jesuits, why would you care to which degree?

I don't think they're going to enforce your religiousness (if that's word) if that's what youre asking?

Creighton isn't Loma Linda. They don't enforce their religion on you, much like SLU and Georgetown.

I just used my pasport photo, i didnt really have any other appropriate photos and i didnt feel like photoshoping one up.

If you are some crazy atheist who spits fire at the 1st sign of organized relegion or the sight of a cross then maybe skip creighton😉. Seriously though they dont push their relegion at all and dont care what you are. Jesuit schools are all about community service and thats how their "relegiousness" is conveyed at each school. Only loma linda is the school that will shove their relgious values down your throat.

how's everyone doing? I see yall got kind of off topic about my earlier post

Nothing is wrong with Loma Linda. They want their students to follow their mission and whatnot. It's all cool 😎

on a side note...Creighton will take about 3 weeks to update everything for us until we are complete. They said they have been receiving a lot of secondaries which scares me. :scared:

I was essentially asking if the religious affiliation is more of a historical thing, or if it's more of a we-don't-refer-for-abortions kind of thing. It's entirely possible to think the school wouldn't espouse any religious viewpoints yet still technically be affiliated with a religion, ie, Albert Einstein COM.

ah! finally got the essay to save. now the credit card submission thing won't work. creighton, why do you hate my internets?

I'll go out on a limb and say that they're aligned with doctrine re: abortion since they rescinded an offer to allow a pro-abortionist to speak on campus. Am I wrong, folks?

You're right but abortion isn't something to bring up in an essay - you'd have to be crazy. I can't believe how illogical a lot of the people in here are... good at physics, chem, and bio but no common sense at all. 👎

Who said anything about writing about it? I think he was just asking for his own interest.

For the second question on the secondary is it alright to reference activities I talked about in my primary? If I have to explain them in any detail I have no room to elaborate and answer the question.

Also what do you guys think about quoting a few words from their mission statement for the first question?

Oh man! Do you guys all of have committee letters or something? I don't have a letter from a non-science professor, I think that's kind of ridiculous, and they told me that they can't waive that requirement. So I could have fantastic stats, ECs, other LORs, etc. and they wouldn't consider me without some stupid letter from a humanities professor? Lame!

Anybody planning on sending in their secondary anyways? Or does everyone here meet their requirements?

dont waste money if they said you have to have that letter. I have a non-sci letter from my psych prof, i dont havea committee letter. Theres a few med schools im applying to that require a non-sci letter so i made sure to get that.

Which schools? Creighton is the only one I've seen so far that requires one (not just recommends).

penn state, umm a few others too, i dont feel like searching every school i applied to but just know that its a minority that do. out of 40+ schools i applied to, maybe 5 required non-sci letters.

I love how SDN members are assumed male until proven otherwise. 🙄
ahah hey its mostly right! Its a bad habit though i admit 🙁. Unless your avatar or something about you is blatantly obvious you are a women, i assume otherwise 🙁. Think you cna forgive us ?😛

Not gonna lie..being female for some reason I assume everyone here is a female unless their username or MDapps says otherwise..

No, that was a typo. I meant to type "she"

Forgive? 🙂
Haha, of course.

It's funny how it's so easy to tell gender by one's typing style for the majority of people...then there are the (apparently) androgynous typers such as myself. Maybe I should pepper my posts with more smilies and lols.
