They said to respond within a day or two, I think.
Yes, but I couldn't make it to the days they gave me a choice of. I ended up scheduling today. I guess it's only two business days after I got the offer, but 5 days real time.

I'm sure it's completely fine. I think they just want to make sure their interview spots fill up right away so they can extend more interviews. Congrats on the interview! Maybe I'll meet you there!

could be in the Playboy mansion... or on the International Space Station... or in the Playboy mansion within the International Space Station... there's always a better location.

btw, Steve Yzerman, best captain ever... GO WINGS!

...If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure playboy headquarters is 1 block from the school....not sure about the international space station though =P

so i submitted finally yesterday, got a complete email today. I LOVE this school! it seems like they have everything together and really care about the whole admissions process.

I didn't know they sent out complete emails. I don't have an email from them but my status online turned to complete and under review pretty within hours of my submission at the end of July. Did everyone here get complete emails also?

i just got an email saying my app and fee were received. as long as you're complete on the status page, you're fine.

What does a complete page look like?

My status is "Online Payment Receipt" and it tells me that they got my $$ and gave me a transaction #. This is not the complete page I assume?

It should change to complete pretty soon, just takes a little while.

Your online status page will read,

We have received your supplemental application and letters of recommendation. Your application is now considered complete and under review.

Does anyone remember whether this secondary required you to list the names of your letter writers? I submitted this secondary a week ago, but I realized today that I forgot to forward my letters from AMCAS to Northwestern. Now, I can't remember which letter writers I listed on my application (or if I listed any in the first place). Any help would be appreciated!

There is a chance I may be wrong because I've been through so many of these by this point, but I'm almost positive that I just picked 'letter packet' and did not specify the letter writers on Northwestern's application. Basically it said on there that they'll read 3 of them before deciding on an interview, and if you receive an interview then they'll look through any of the rest or any extra one's you send them. Hope that helps!

Does anyone know if Northwestern wants a photo on interview day?

Does anyone know if Northwestern wants a photo on interview day?

No. They have a printout with a photo/profile of everyone that is interviewing that day. I have to admit that the school is pretty amazing.

How long does it take people to get complete status update? Previous posts show that it is a short time, but I've been waiting over 2 weeks...has it slowed down or should I e-mail to check?

Thanks! 🙂

You should email & check. they are pretty quick about it.

Give me some love, Northwestern!! *wants interview... awaiting patiently...*

Has anyone interviewed here yet? How were the individual vs panel interviews?

this is my top choice school...if i got in here i would withdraw all my apps everywhere else. PLEASE give me an INTERVIEW so i can IMPRESS you with my SKILLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

emphasis on the skillzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. i just want to be revieweddd and invitedddd

is it so wrong to want to be invited to something?

I have. The panel interview isn't really a big deal. It was actually kind of cool to hear other people's answers to interview questions. I loved the school. It really, really impressed me.

Wait, for the panel interviews, is it multiple interviewees or interviewers??

I really like that they give acceptances to over 50% of interviewees. Makes the travel seem worthwhile.

Just so you guys know...you don't need to freak out too much about the panel interview. I thought there would be inherent competition in that your answer would be "compared" to others in your group, however they switch up the questions a decent amount such that everyone doesn't answer the same questions. Furthermore, all 3 of the people in my group got accepted (and attended) Northwestern so it's not like they have to cut someone from each group. It's really not as intense of an atmosphere as it sounds and the last "group activity" is really just to see if you can work together/compromise/make group decisions.

Good luck!

Woot! Interview. Complete 8/28--exactly a month ago. The earliest interview day available for me was Oct 14th (I didn't take that date).

Congrats!! I'm hoping to hear from them soon (and hopefully only good news!) 🙂

Congratulations Equality.

hey, so I got an invite today and I'm having some trouble fitting it into my schedule (due to other interviews and midterms and stuff). M, Th, and F tend to be the best days for me, but I can't make it to any of the M/Th/F dates that are offered... it really seems like I'm going to end up scheduling on 12/2 or 12/16. How bad would it be to be scheduling for so late? I mean, some of the available dates are in Oct! but I really can't make it till Dec unless I really cram my schedule. I've heard that NW accepts >50% of their interviewees, so how critical is it to interview here this early? finally, my final exams start on 12/7, so if I did my interview on the 12/16 date (versus the 12/2 date), it would allow me to really concentrate on the interivew and avoid missing school and stuff. But if this is going make a huge difference then i'll just schedule for 12/2... sorry for all the questions, I'm just confused as to how critical it is to have an early interview, and for NW especially. Thx!

Congrats on the interview! Man up and miss some class. If you like the school enough, you'll miss class for it. This is the rest of your life we're talking about, and if (none of us are sure exactly how big this if is) there's a difference between Oct and Dec, you don't want it determining the med school you go to.

Take the weekend to travel up there. Interview on Monday. Get back for class on Tuesday. Tell your profs what you're doing, if attendance is required, and just do it. You'll make up for it somehow.

If the school is like #15 on your list, and you really don't care about getting in, wait til later. Maybe you can get an acceptance before you go, then you don't even have to go to the interview.

I second Bryson17's suggestion.

woohoo interview invite. took about 2 weeks and 4 days from being complete (I know sometimes SDNers like timeline specifics 😀). Fantastic school, never been to Chicago, so looking forward to it.

Also, stupid question, does know anyone know if there is a forum/database/thread of previous interview questions that I could check out? I would like to get a handle on the flavor of questions I may expect. Thanks in advance and good luck to you all!

requiem - scroll up to the very top of the page, and click on "interview feedback" 🙂

Congrats. Complete for two months now. Silent hold or rejection?😴

I got an interview invite too! Maybe they sent out a batch yesterday? See you guys there.

My first invite, VERY excited to meet everyone at Feinberg. I was complete on August 24th, and got the invite email yesterday.

hey guys congrats on the interviews! I haven't heard anything yet but I have scheduled an interview in Chicago- do you guys know how receptive Northwestern is about in the area emails. I would be in chicago in early november so would it be to early to send the email now? also is it pushy to ask for one specific day?

thanks

Holy S!
interview invite today. complete 8/27. woot.

Does anyone know how early we should book our flights home on interview day? It seems like it takes a while to get to the airport, and it's not so clear when exactly the day will end.

I've never been rushed with 6:45/7:00. May spend a little extra time at the airport if you get out early, but you'll be ok definitely. Also, the bigger the airport, the more likely that standby is an option so if you get there a ton earlier, you have a chance at leaving early anyways.

has anybody who had a summer mcat heard anything yet?

Could someone possibly link the place you can check your application status just to make sure it's complete? I can't find it on the website.

Just received an interview invite! WAHOOOO (although I'm a bit nervous about the panel interview)!!

I was complete 8/12.
