Hi,

Good luck to all those still waiting for a spot! I had just withdrawn my acceptance. Hope my spot goes to one of you.

Yea, good luck to everyone who's been waiting patiently (or not really patiently, like secretly neurotically, heh). :xf: For all of us, I really hope we hear some good new soon. I'm excited that a lot of things will change after May 15th, but honestly a little freaked out at the same time, after 5 months of being on hold, ugh, January was forever ago. Oh well, we all knew this day was coming. Now we just hold on to the edge of our seats and welcome whatever's coming!!

I received a spot via the lottery for on campus housing about 2-3 weeks ago. I'm not sure if they filled all of the spots yet, though, after the lottery was complete. I know you can still apply and at worst they'll put you on the wait list for housing.

agree with above. go on the waitlist. i went on the waitlist in april and was offered a one bedroom place like 3 weeks later. i declined that and another 2 weeks later i was offered a 2 bedroom which i signed. However, i got off the waitlist at another school so i cancelled the 2 bedroom contract. I think if you go on the waitlist there will be something opening up. plus it's free to go on the waitlist, so it doesn't hurt to atleast try.

Does anyone know if there has been many post interview rejections?? I just havnt seen many people saying they were rejected after their interview and I see a lot of people on hold.... myself included! Just wanted to get a gauge on my actual chances. It appears that there are a number of spots that have opened up but from what iv seen if 677 interviewed and most were placed on hold it appears that the odds of acceptance off the hold list are still few and far between. Any input would be appreciated. thanks.
 
I dont think that there have been many post interview rejections... and i would also think that there are many people on hold.


also there are a good number of spots which will go to students from the BMS program.. (maybe about 40-50 seats) although some have heard from the committee and have received an acceptance, most from the program will hear back to within this week or the next.

with these two factors of students on hold plus the people from the BMS program, i would think also that the odds are few and far... it might be filled up....

It's a brand new week people...don't start it with fear cos that would not take you anywhere. Keep your spirits up! I'll accept whatever comes as God's will and I'll be ready to take the next step.
 
hey maiden, did you get an acceptance anywhere else or heard from any othrer schools yet??

I get into Cornell Qatar but not in Rosalind, eh? Well, I am not going to withdraw from the waitlist, I am gonna see if they realize what they missed by putting me on waitlist. Anyways.

Have they created a waitlist or are you talking about being on hold? Did you receive an email recently?

actually, no one is on the waitlist.... i think that by this next meeting, we will get the final decisions of whether to be rejected, accepted, or be put on a waitlist. good luck to all, and nice to hear that some of you were accepted someplace.
 
Starting to get nervous

I bet you decisions come either friday 28 or monday 31... almost positive of that. Everyone on hold that isn't accepted or rejected will be put on the waitlist.

2 to 5 days now.. good luck everyone!

I agree with you except that Monday is a public holiday. It would be nice to have positive news on Friday, so that on Monday, there can be some partying....

oh yeah, I forget about those kind of holidays since I have to work through them... but let's hope we hear back on friday so we can party (safely) not just monday, but all weekend 😀
 
Hey guys, I just got an email acceptance, holy cr@#@$@p!! I can't believe it....so you never know, you might here some good news earlier than you think! I've been patient alongside all you guys, and I truly really do hope you all hear some great news yourselves sooooon! :xf::xf: especially Maiden, fnsweet, sweetness, you all better get in so I can start classes with you!

Waitlisted.
Does anybody happen to know what the chances are of getting off the waitlist? i.e. how many people they usually take up off it and how many people are on it?
I am accepted somewhere else (UW Madison) but the problem is that I recently got engaged and my fiance is building his life in CHICAGO.
I really do not want to have a long distance marriage if you know what I mean. This really blows.

you know when you open your email and read "regrets to inform in the first line" that you just got a rejection letter 🙁

not exactly sure what went wrong.. but that's just how it goes, no use in getting up set over it.

I wish everyone the best of luck... more luck than I had.

So your email said waitlisted? Cause I had one that said hold. And i'm not really sure what that means. Seems like they're accepting, holding, waitlisting and rejecting? What's the point of a hold why not just waitlist.
 
mine said hold too.... that would be really interesting if people were in fact waitlisted on this round, though, so are we sure that that really happened or did they just mean hold?

Applying to medical school is seriously just way too much fun
 
Ok guys...I got the rejection email so there is no med school for me this year or ever...I don't know. I am very excited for those of you who got accepted or who are on hold or waitlisted - pls make the best of this awesome opportunity. What can I say? It's been fun talking with you guys. God bless!
 
Maiden - I'm very sorry. Don't lose hope, I was rejected last year and re-applied with better luck this year. Keep your head up high and best of luck.

i've been kinda lurking on this thread since releasing my spot hoping to see lots of good news. sorry you didn't get in Maiden. I was totally rooting for you. don't give up!
 
Maiden, I am super sorry you didn't get in. Obviously I don't know you very well but from the posts, you seem to have a personality that is fit for a career in medicine, and with getting an interview, you were strongly considered and chosen above at least 80% of their applications. Keep at it! And if not, I am sure your optimism and enthusiasm will carry you a long way in anything that you choose.
