Is there anyway to paste the pic directly onto the pdf file and then print it out? (I'm adobe reader illiterate.)
 
Do you guys feel like we need to capitalize "Life in Discovery" every time we write it, like they do?


This prompt has the most potential for huge amounts of BS of any secondary essay prompt I've seen so far.

Ok so for the interprofessional essay...what would you guys define interprofessional as? lots of doctors following one person? physicians, nurses, etc collaborating? but then they say something about research scientists in the prompt so i was thinking about new techniques and equipment...idk?

I kept it much more general and talked about things that pertain to any type of type regardless of if they are scientists, doctors, etc. Then I used my experience working in such an environment as sorta an example.

yeah that sounds sort of like what i did...i did it a little more specific for doctors, nurses, and hospital staff but it could easily be done either way. thx!
 
i noticed they want 3 recommendations.

i have a committee letter that includes all of my recommendations.

do i need to have another 2 separate sent to rosalind franklin? i'm confused.

This is from their website:
"We require a composite/committee evaluation from your school or three individual letters of evaluation. The Admissions Office suggests submitting two individual letters by professors under whom you have studied, and the third letter from a person who has supervised your work experience(s), or others who are uniquely qualified to comment on your potential for the study of medicine."

When you guys print the app, are the essays you wrote in the prompts slightly shifted up and to the left? I dont know how to fix it, it doesnt really make it hard to read but it looks sorta off...

Are you guys filling the whole space for the essays? i sure didnt...i mean i suppose i could write some fill-in bull ****...what is better short essays that are consise or filling the space? haha

haha it edited my post! sorry i am really amused by this...i hadnt even realized i had written a cuss word...gee thanks sdn for watching out for me and every other innocent mind on here 🙂

no they gave wayy to much space. My 1st essay was about 1900 characters the 2nd one was 1400. concise > BS so dont worry 🙂
 
Is anyone ever able to call them? Everytime i call them it just gives some blurb then hangs up on me. I emailed them like a week ago and they still havnt responded 🙁...
 
So I know they say they require 3 letters of rec., but is that a strict max limit?

With schools that clearly say they have a max number of letters it's easy, but with wording like this I wonder if we can send more

Did most of you only assign 3 letters to this school?
 
Too much work for this school..
Makes me wanna not apply here but can't stop now since I've already spent much time... sigh..
 
that challenge questions is probably one of the big challenges i have to face for wanting to be in their inter-professional environment!! i am probably going to use half the character limit for their essays or maybe even less..
 
For those of you who have received your secondary, when was your AMCAS application verified? AMCAS received everything from me about two weeks ago and I'm still not verified. I know some schools send out secondaries before AMCAS verifies your application.
 
So it's a paper 2ndary...
It costs $100 by check...


What the heck, mailed it in today.

Life in Discovery can kiss my ass. God, I am struggling to come up with something that doesn't sound ******ed.
 
Is anyone else concerned that they seem to have stopped updating their website in like 2007?

Also, yes this secondary prompt totally blows. I completely agree with PanicAttack, tell us what we want to hear about our school's cliche marketing phrase. Annoying.
 
i finished a draft and they both make me laugh at myself! for life in discovery its like great great im so great and life in discovery is just, well.. GREAT!!!!

and for the second one, hmm lets just say im gonna be crowned as the queen of BS here :meanie:

my thoughts exactly. i hate when schools give out this type of prompt that requires you to define and explain a term only THEY have coined... i hate these essays. i cant figure out how to not make it BORING!
 
I tried something moderately interesting with the first prompt. Only time will tell if it worked or not. And ya, the second had to be the biggest BS I have written so far.

ahha this whole secondary was BS...I had no idea how to make these interesting...the 1st one is impossible to make interesting, i dont know what they want. The second one is just like tell us why you suck at working in a team...i hate weakness questions...they are either damaging or cliche about how you learned form your mistakes and have made a positive change.🙄

Needless to say if i got a rejection i wouldnt be all that surprised...lol. Any else having problems contacting these guys? I mean i sent them like 3 emails and they never respond, and I called but i always get some automated message even during the times they are open. They must hate talking to applicants

lmao, i bet they do. how long are your guys' responses? I hit about 1200 characters for the Life in Discovery one before my bull decided it was tired and wanted to go lay down.

I feel like I could at least do something with the 2nd one. The first one is practically a joke- like we're supposed to know what that term means ahead of time.

it was like 1900 characters for me, not too long. I figured that was enough bs for the day haha...
 
I used pretty much half the space provided (or characters).. i cant get anymore bs out of myself.. but i still havent submitted yet..

My first one is 1100 characters, and the second one is 1300. I'm now all BSed out for other schools. -.-
 
Other than temple, this is the most irritating secondary I have received...

I finally got a profile up for this year (kinda)! Hopefully it goes better than two years ago🙁
 
Should I be worried? I haven't received this secondary and I was verified in mid June. This is the only one I haven't gotten out of the ones that have been released...makin me freak a little. 🙁

yeah I was verified July 2nd and I haven't received it either 🙁

They don't screen do they?? I thought they didn't screen
 
called three times throughout this morning -- no one answers phones?

i'll shoot them an email, but i'm not too sure that'll be very successful either.

are you talking about not recieveing the secondary?
if so, then i haven't recieved it either....got verified a long time ago.
i am thinking about emailing them with my aamc number, but still thinking about what else to write in the email. i would really like to come to RF as my medical and would like a secondary app? this sounds cheesy...i dont know!🙁
 
Do they send emails when they receive your secondary or when your application is complete? This school is hard to track. =[
