anyone else complete 11/3ish and not heard anything back yet?
it's been a while...

it's been a while...

Right there with you, teenmachinery. A simple "nice try, but no cigar" would have been preferable to the waiting game. Keep me posted if you get an interview invite, and I'll do the same.
teenmachinery- got the interview invite email a couple of days ago; hope you got the same, or it's on its way...
Keep on keepin' on!
Haha I just signed up so I could post this. But, I submitted my secondary 11/9 and was freaking out over break. I called admissions this morning and she said that it had just been processed and I was going to be sent an invite in the next couple of days. She told me to call back by the end of the week if I hadn't heard back in case there was a glitch.
Hope the information is useful, and for those waiting - hang in there!
interview invite 😎
anyone know how filled the class is?
interview invite 😎
anyone know how filled the class is?
Congratulations! When's your interview? I have no clue how filled the class is.
I'd imagine not that full since non-Washington WWAMI people are about to start their interview season.
My int. is set for the end of this month so not bad...

Anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back after the interview regarding the committees decision? Does the length depend on acceptance v. rejection? Thanks in advance.
Are you a Washington resident, or non-Washington WWAMI resident, teenmachinery?
I think I looked at a lot of it, just to get myself thinking about the issues. Personally, I only got one really ethical question though so it's not really something to spend too much time on. Most of the interview was spent on my application, plans for the future and perspective on medicine. Also, I had heard stories that the interview was going to be really intense with 3 people grilling you, etc, etc. While there are 3 interviewers, you all sit around a table, and for me it was a fairly relaxed conversation. So don't go into it freaking out like I did 🙂I'm a WA resident.
Did those of you who interviewed look at the bioethics website?
It's pretty elaborate. Did you guys go through them all?
thanks!

I went through every single one of them, trying to memorize the "right" response to each type of situation and reasoning through why it would be right.
Biggest waste of time ever.
Seriously, all you're going to need for the interview re: ethics/policy questions is an opinion on the issues (that you can defend), common sense, and a conscience. Put them together and you should be golden.
When did you interview, and how long after interview until you got your acceptance notice?
Any idea on MCAT/GPA, etc. profiles of those accepted by UW so far?
I interviewed early Nov. on a Friday, accepted the following Monday. I think a bunch of people wind up in the "Under consideration" group and end up finding out relatively late, so no need to worry for those still waiting for an answer.
GPA and MCAT: All over the place probably. Think they said ~60% of the class comes from the sub 3.5/30 group, so all over the place probably.
Hmmm. An acquaintance with MCAT 39 and very high GPA got rejected, but he's 21 and a senior at UW. Presumably, his interview was OK, as he seems personable.
Perhaps age and life experience are such a priority that UWSOM wants applicants like him to live and experience a more of life before admission. At least, that's what I've heard from one or two docs on the faculty. Perhaps he and others like him should re-apply in a year or two, with substantially more clinical job shadow and real life in the meantime.
It's impossible to know, really, one of my friends got rejected @ UW, but got into Case and Vermont. I do know that there's a strict, although implicit, requirement regarding shadowing (i.e no shadowing, no interview), and that consistency is a big deal too (Shadowing/research/volunteering in ortho + spouting off about your love for primary care = bad times).
I just found out this morning that I am on hold, but I'm guessing the emails are pretty similar. I'm guessing it probably will be closer to March or April before people start hearing as the excom sees how the class is shaping up. Maybe not the very last meeting but it will probably be a while unfortunately.Good luck to you tm1, you'll do great. The interview was much less stressful than I expected it to be.
Did anyone else get another Still Under Consideration email this morning? It says: "If you have any questions or concerns in the next few months, please feel free to contact our office." Do you think this means nothing will happen until final excom?
Here's the good news/bad news, at least as I see it. In years past, those "still under consideration" typically didn't hear anything until the final EXCOM meeting. So, bad news is, more waiting. I have heard that this year they are much more stringent in selecting applicants to interview, meaning that if you've had your interview and are "still under consideration", well that's a good thing even better than in the past. I think they also have less "consideration" spots than in years past, as lots of applicants understandably get tired of waiting, so your potential odds of ending up accepted may be greater. Keep hope alive!🙂
I got the call today...caught me out of nowhere. I had been placed in the "still under consideration" group about a month ago. This was my 3rd (and final) attempt in the last 4 years. Good luck to the rest of you. It's a crazy process, but stick to it and things will work out.

Congrats, DarkSideMoon!!! 🙂
Did you send a letter of intent, letter of updated activities, or updated transcripts?
So I've been monitoring this forum for a while now, but this is my first post. I just wanted to provide a timeline update for any Idaho or WWAMI students out there who have interviewed or are waiting for the second round of interviews. I completed my secondary application on Nov. 9, was invited for an interview on Dec. 6, interviewed on Jan. 4 (regional), and was accepted on Jan. 8.
I have a friend who is still waiting to hear if he gets a March interview (for Idaho residents), and thought this might be helpful for some folks out there! Good luck, everybody!
fuzz052, where are you from in Idaho? I submitted my secondary app. at the end of August and I live in Moscow and am wondering if at least part of the reason that I didn't get an interview in January was because they gave those ones to people in southern Idaho.

Is there anyone who completed on mid-December already received their interview invite?
I was complete mid-december, still waiting![]()
