First rejection..oh well. Good luck to all you guys.

This is kinda sad - I've been checking my status so much the past week that I've memorized both my user id and applicant nbr 😳
I would love that, but it's just become a time of obsessive email checking and status checking. Hahaha. I feel like I am certainly not alone either.lol and to think I was surprised when I had my AAMC ID # memorized
you know, we should all think of this post-submission time as relaxation time. Ideally haha
I've seen quite a few more pre secondary rejections than I expected. How strict is their screening? And about how many people get post secondary interviews(like percent or something)? Cause I've seen their stats, but I assume that the applicants they list include those rejected pre secondary as well.
I've seen 8-9% as well. But I would assume that includes those who get screened out pre secondary. Maybe not though. I'm curious about how thorough the screen is.
Well I was under the impression that about 1/3 of all applicants get the secondary. If 9% ultimately get interviewed, I guess about 27% of those who get the secondary ultimately get interviewed. I don't know how accurate the estimate of how many get the secondary is though, I don't recall where that number came from.Exactly my point. I wonder what percent of people that actually do the secondary get an interview or what percent get screened out pre secondary. It may not be possible to find though.

my rejection letter said something to the effect of 'we don't like to screen based on numerical criteria alone and we reviewed your application personally before making this decision.' (not the exact words, because i don't feel like rereading my rejection.) but it does appear that they ARE looking for something, some sort of fit that apparently i was missing.
but then again, my gpa IS low. maybe they throw the low ones in the about-to-be-rejected stack, then go through and rescue a few of the really good ones 🙂

my rejection letter
Does their email take a while to get or something? My status says it has been emailed to me but I see nothing in my inbox.
More than half interviewd get accepted. Please give me an interview, WF.
How did you find out? Via snail mail, or email, or just by checking your status online?
Sorry for your bad luck.
Yeah, but we are talking as a whole right now. Considering nobody really knows the numbers for this in the first place, discerning IS/OOS really is silly. I would imagine it scales proportionately though. I didn't know that only about 1/3 make it to secondary. That's impressively strict imo.
rockaction said:Alright everyone, I've got some good news! I emailed Wake Forest about what the status "means", and if it's a post-secondary hold or not. Here's the reply I got:
"What the status means is that you have been placed in an interview pool and may get an invitation for interview. There usually ends up being about 1,000 in the top interview pool with spaces for only 550 to be interviewed. So we send the invitations. That hasn't been done as of yet for the interviews which will begin mid September. Stay tuned, you could possibly hear something soon."
That's more re-assuring than a straight-up hold. So everyone sit tight and hope for good things.
I noticed that too, but if they are only interviewing from the top pool, it seems a little odd to call other groups "interview pools". Is the "no interview" pool an "interview" pool?It seems nobody else is looking at this like I am:

So ok, we've been placed in an interview pool, but is it the top interview pool? I hope so...

So this may be the completely wrong place to post this but as you will see I'm kind of new to SDN so give me a break 🙂 Just wondering if anyone could give me any information on the strengths of Wake Forest, good points, reasons to go there etc. I'm trying to decide whether to apply here and I looked on the website but it didn't seem to really help much. I kind of got the feeling they are really interested in people who want to do primary care--which is not me.
Does Wake Forest not have a student host program? 🙁
True, no number in the street address. But, the zip code is actually the most important thing to locating an address, and the 10 digit zip is basically a bulls-eye, bingo. The postal worker who has the Wake Forest route definitely knows how to get it there, and probably LOVES this time o'year. Better than Christmas. 😀question..
the address we mail the signature form to...doesn't have a street address. is that correct?
is so, how the deuce do the postal workers know where to send to?
mhm.
Do they send email confirmation or update the status page when they received the signature form and the application is complete?

Wow finally got the secondary and submitted! I feel so late to the party with this school. 🙁
Same here, sent off the form today. Hope we're not too late in getting early-ish dates for interviews.
Judging by people who say they are getting interview dates already, I'm pretty sure they've moved past the early dates. But who knows? Just wish I didn't get screwed by "technical problems".
Ok I decided to apply and complete this secondary. But what are people doing for the additional info section? Is this a why wake forest and does any current wake forest student think by not filling it out I will hurt my chances for an interview?
How long after receiving the "complete/your application is ready for review" email did you all start getting interview invites?
Cool, thanks!Complete - 7/31, invite - 8/5
