I was looking at the thread last year and it looked like the big wave of acceptances started going out late February/ early March. So it looks like those of us sitting somewhere in the middle of the rankings (like myself I hope) will have to wait a while longer...

Interviews are scheduled to be over by early-mid March. The "accept" vs. "waitlist" vs. "reject" thresholds should be completely finalized soon after that, at the latest: When they've interviewed everyone and figured out how many people they want to accept without going to the waitlist, the score of the lowest-scoring person accepted will be the accept vs. waitlist threshold.

So would it be better to wait a little bit longer to write a letter of interest? Or could sending one now put you a bit higher on their point system?

Wow, totally unexpected, but I just got an interview invitation. Complete since 8/31. Interview dates available are end of Feb/beginning of March area. Haven't decided which date to accept yet.

I interviewed at Dartmouth in the middle of September, and I still haven't heard a word from them. I know they said that "no news is good news," but this is starting to drive me insane. I really enjoyed Dartmouth, and I'm basically waiting on them at this point to decide on other schools. Does anyone know if they will send out any responses before late February? Thanks in advance for the response(s)

Complete a week after you, this gives (slight) hope.

rejected today 🙁. Congrats on the invite

i've been complete for 5 months and am still waiting. does dartmouth finishing interview mid or end of march? anyone?

Tuesday, February 15 is available if anyone wants to bump up their interview date.

So I have been complete here for quite a few months and have heard nothing...when does Dartmouth finish offering interviews? And are they one of the schools who holds on to everyone's applications and then rejects them all at once, or is it good news that I'm still waiting

Thank you
!!!!!

Also, would emailing them for a status check harm at all?

I interviewed in Sept. and got the waitlist email today...

any recent interview invites/pre-interview rejections?

rejected this afternoon, no invite. so i guess, they are doing pre-interview rejections

i'm sorry to hear that. 🙁

do you mind sharing w/us your completion date? i'm just trying to gauge when i can expect to hear back.

Unfortunately l3on3ssa's completion date will likely not help you to know when you're likely to hear back. There are, however, only about a month of interviews left so I'd guess that you'll hear back within the next 2-3 weeks on the outside.

How does Dartmouth alert you of acceptances, wait-lists or rejections after an interview? Is it strictly snail mail? Will they email you?

Thanks!

Tho it might not help, I'm very willing to share. I was pretty late... completion date 10/5... so it took them a while... Oh well..

PhysicsNerd, it says on their website they interview into april.... U dont think they will go that long this year?

i think that might be outdated information. when i called they said that they plan to wrap up their interview season sometime in march.

Yeah from what I heard, they usually conclude in March.

DMS applicants must be poorly represented amongst SDN'ers then since we've only heard of a handful for acceptances really early on and then nothing else since.

Thanks for the replies.... March huh? Thats discouraging its gettn late....I was complete 10/14.... no news was good news but now its gettn late....

bconstant & l3on3ssa-- Does Dartmouth reject by email or snail mail?

Thanks

Interview invite today 🙂

I was complete sometime in September.

Dates offered are Feb and beginning of March.

Best of luck to those still waiting to hear pre-interview.

When does DMS stop giving out invites? I'm still waiting to hear something....🙁

Rejected w/o interview today.

"I am writing to share what I believe will be disappointing news..."

i've pretty much given up 🙁

i called and i was told that they're going to interview through end of march. also, not having heard back is a good thing because it means that our files are still in review.

Physicsnerd (and others),

I sent an email update to dartmouth in regards to an award i was nominated for at the hospital where i work about a month ago. Still no interview invite, and i found out a few days ago that I won the award......

I would like to send them another update (like a follow up update) b/c i do think its significant since the award was out of everyone in the whole hospital.....

What do you think? would it be too much to send ANOTHER update, or would it makes sense for me to do this?

I would REALLY appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance

I really don't see how it would hurt to send an update. I would send them an email. Good luck!

Hey Docjlud,

What email address did you use to send them the update? Did you get any confirmation?

Thanks a lot!

Physicsnerd, thanks for the reply! I am going to send them the update.

I sent the update to [email protected] per their instruction. I recieved a confirmation shortly after.

Perhaps an odd question, but does anyone happen to remember the name of the lady who oversaw the whole interview day? I think it was something like "Joan," but I'm not sure...
