Got the same email... final decision has been made and it is mailed to you. Almost got a heart attack as I read it 😱

I'm not sure why they did this, I'm certain they didn't do it to deliberately inflict pain on us. My guess is, it was an attempt to update us on the status. They have repeatedly said they will update (usually within minutes) with any news they can. I believe they are well aware of the hundreds of us that are waiting for ANY scrap of info lol. I've always had very favorable interactions with them. That being said... I'm about to pull my hair out!

Got the email too, certainly has made me more anxious as well. Here's to patience and good fortune for everybody in the coming days!
 
What times were your emails sent? 1:03 PM Central. Maybe there's a correlation... like all of the acceptances were sent out earlier.. 👍
 
I received my email at 1:10pm central time. Doubt there is a correlation though. Probably just a computer working through a list of names.

1:11 pm CST here. However, I would highly doubt that the time the email was sent indicates an acceptance.
 
1:10 CST as well...last name in the "A-N" category, OOS 😀 If it wasn't by alphabetical order, it may have been by interview date!

Seriously, the wording could be a little better. When I first read it, I couldn't help but feel a little rejected with the whole "We appreciate your interest..." Good to hear it seems like everyone got the same email... Now it's time to stalk those mailmen... Good luck everyone!

LLS its soo funny how impatient we could be. Speculating will only make us feel more anxious and crazy.
On the bright side, it will be all over by friday (hopefully) so hold on guyz

Damn I didn't get one. I'm chalking this up as a rejection so there is no disappointment. I'll prepare to reapply. Blah.

The email sent out yesterday saying final decisions have been
made and will be mailed and not emailed. I didn't get one.

No. I just did and it's not in there. I also never got the final pool email as
well. I'm wondering if my email got messed up in their system?
 
I was not receiving emails at another school. Got so bad I almost missed an interview invite haha! I cleared it up by calling the office and having them email me at another account. Maybe you could try that? :shrug:
 
Does anybody know if you still get the $1500 stipend for a computer if you start the program with your own? I need a new one, and don't want to wait for a decision, but don't want to lose that money for it. Thanks so much!
 
From my understanding Carver wants all medical students to have the same computer. This means you have to buy the computer regardless of whether you currently own a computer. The admin's rationale for this policy is so that every student has access to the same materials/programs and Carver's techies only need to know how to fix one kind of computer. There has also been some frustration from current M1's about having to buy the computer so there are talks of removing the requirement. However, the final decision has not yet been made or made public.

Disclaimer: I am not a student at Carver just what I have gathered from other posts and my interview day 🙂 .
 
Yeah I heard the same thing about the computers...you have to buy the one they want everyone to have.

I wish I could just walk the four blocks between my house and the medical school and ask for my acceptance/rejection letter. Save them some postage..

A few posts on page 12 indicate that it won't be required to buy their laptop. Thanks for the input tho! Anyone know if they still give the stipend to students with laptops that meet the requirements?
 
Ahhh yes I remember reading that now! Hopefully they do give out a stipend haha

Is that not allowed? If I didn't hear anything by Friday, I was considering doing that, lol.

Well they didn't say anything about not giving out your decision in person 😉 They only said not by phone or e-mail, right?

Funny just got an acceptance email. so much for not sending email but im glad i know what is in the mail

Could it be?? 4ksibe... could you confirm that you receieved two emails... one the other day like everybody (which said it's in the mail)... and one today which said you have been accepted?

Yep i received the email yesterday about the final decision in the mail. And today I just received the acceptance email. Very informal though i will say...the signature is merged together with the txt but yea
 
Me too. I received the generic e-mail yesterday and the acceptance e-mail today. I am IS applicant.
 
I wonder if they all went out at the same time (in which case I didn't get one)... or if someone is making their way through the acceptance list, generating one email at a time which could still support a glimmer of hope:scared:
 
well, I guess I'm rejected or waitlisted since I didn't receive an acceptance email today. Congrats Ungu and 4ksibe

BaM74... I think they went out at the same time since both the 2 acceptances reported it at about same time. Also, we know that acceptances at the stage will be limited with most notifications being W/L or rejections... in any event, good luck to you.... I'm definitely not anticipating that letter in the snail mail now.
 
I'd say you're right Jamiu22. I myself, have also started to dread the snail mail letter based on these emails. I guess we can all hope to be on the w/l.... somewhere less than 10 right haha 👍

Since I'm now expeciting a WL/rejection letter, does anyone know if the letter will tell you your rank on the list?

Judging from last year's thread, the waitlist letter will tell you which number you are on the waitlist.
and keep your chin up - perhaps they didn't send out all of the acceptance e-mails at once.

Hearing this makes me really glad I looked into alternative ways to spend my next year, although my fingers are still tightly crossed for a surprise acceptance in the mail. Good luck to everyone waiting on these huge envelopes.
 
I got the vague email yesterday, and I received a much better one today. Accepted!

Well...I guess it's WL or a rejection for me then...with the latter being more likely since I'm OOS 🙁
 
Congrats to all those accepted. I'm starting to get really nervous/disappointed. Hoping for a WL but we'll see.
 
Yes, congrats to the lucky ones so far! I'm only a couple of hours from IC and I'm hoping the mail comes before the weekend despite the email saying the letters were going to be mailed in the next "few days". I can only stand so much of this 😕

I'm hoping they mailed them out earlier today, since they sent out the e-mails to the accepted students already! We'll see if any Iowans and residents of surrounding states receive letters tomorrow! Meanwhile, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a waitlist position! :xf:

On my interview day they told us that we may hear from Certiphi in advance of hearing from Iowa if we are accepted or placed on the waitlist, has this been the case for anyone?

Congrats to all of you who got accepted and good luck to those still in the hunt.
 
anyone else get the accepted email? was it from certiphi or carver admissions directly? do you think everyone who was accepted got one?
