What if I haven't received the email at all............REJECTION?

Anyone else not get the email? Considering how few BU accepts at this stage in the game, I would want to be in any sort of minority group 😛

did anyone get interviews without doing the optional essay?

I am getting caught up with school and am wondering if its worth it. I would love to go here, my stats are 3.76cgpa, 31Q (12,8,11) and 3.69 sgpa.

what should i even discuss in the optional essay if i should do it? I was thinking how i can contribute to the diversity of the incoming class.

Also, for the educational summary part that is optional (i.e have you spent time in another country), i have spent time in another country learning their culture but discussed this a lot in other areas.

I did not do the optional essay and I got an interview invite before the 19 days had passed post-completion.

Based on past trends (past BU forums), acceptances are dished out around January 7th, so I'd argue early January, and the Dean said the 10th. I hope it's NOT mid-January...

I hope I hear back from my interviewer around that time. He was a cool guy...

I think BU has 2 release dates:

if you interviewed between Oct. and December, you can hear back mid-January, at which point you might be accepted, rejected, or deferred until March.

If you were deferred from the above, or interviewed Between January and March, you will hear your final decision in March.

Who did you interview with? And did your status page change?

It sounds like decisions have been made, but they give the interviewers a grace period to deliver the good news if they like.
I'm sure some interviewers take this opportunity to call their applicants while others don't.
It's similar to other schools.
For many, calling applicants to deliver the good news is the most fun part of the job, for others, it doesn't matter.

Nope, my status still says that my application is being reviewed by the committee on admissions. However, the e-mail from my interviewer said that letters are going out tomorrow, so hopefully it's not too long of a wait to hear back if you haven't already!
