Interviewing here on the 6th. Will it be snowing? And if it is, how necessary is it to own an overcoat lol?

Interviewing here the 6th also for UP...would like to know the answer as well 😀

It may or may not be. We've been having crazy weather here, around 50-60 degrees most days of the week, when it should already be snowing. There's no way to tell how the weather will play out, but it will most likely be cold. I would suggest a winter jacket, but don't feel like you have to buy one if you live in a warm climate. Layering and sweatshirts and fleeces should get you through.

What does this mean? How does one apply fr these?

You can't apply for a Case Grant. They're need-based.

I'm afraid my psychotemporal meteorology skills are not up to this task. It snowed twice (barely) last week but didn't stick. Having a jacket would be handy, yes. I would hate to have you freeze before your interview. I'm not sure icicles perform terribly well.

Granted, this also depends on how you define "overcoat"/"jacket"...

I agree with both of these. Plus, it would be better to have a extra overcoat and not need it, than it is to not have it and be in need of one.

How long do you expect to hear back the decision after UP and CP interviews

UP is pretty good about having a two week-ish turn around. At your interview, they will tell you when your application will be heading to the committee for review, and that you should hear back a few days after that.

I'm not too sure about CP. It was *hinted* earlier in this thread that their first round of acceptances goes out around the 3rd week of December. Beyond that, I don't know about their notification intervals.

inb4'ed 😡

Just got an interview for both the UP and CP!! I'm so thrilled! :woot:

The first date I could schedule for the two interviews consecutively is Feb 6...is this incredibly late?

Can anyone shed light on what the process is for a one-year deferral to matriculation in both the UP and CP?

I was lucky to have gotten an acceptance for the upcoming UP class, but I would like to take time off to travel and get a break from school. I don't have a program (ie. peace corp, tfa) lined up, but I was thinking about WWOOFing or going to work in health clinics/hospitals and teach english abroad...One of my goals is to solidify my Spanish to the point of fluency.

Will Case Western (UP and CP in case I get accepted) be open to this? I believe that I would probably be more prepared for medical school after taking a year off, but how do I convey this to the school?

Do any current students have experiences with this?

For students that already have opportunities (fullbright/JET/whatever) that would prevent them from matriculating with their respective entering classes, the school can be quite accommodating. If, however, you needed time off to travel or take a break, that would be something that probably should have been done before you applied to medical schools.

You're welcome to ask for the deferral anyway, though.

Just got rejected from CP, without interview. Still hoping for UP interview. Good luck to everyone!

We can only see your activities section.

Edit: By "we," I mean UP student interviewers.

Yep. Just like any interviewer, the degree to which they pull from the application varies. My student interviewer and I just started on some basic questions about myself, and the interview went on from there. I don't think she ever directly asked me about my activities, but I ended up talking about them while discussing my experiences.

I usually start with the non-science activities. Waaay more interesting conversation that way.

Note: I am not everyone else. Your mileage may vary. Offer not valid in the continental United States. Member FDIC. Please rewind.

But the images are not simulated, and batteries ARE included?

Wait wait wait wait WHAT? 😕😕 I'm sooo confused

You interviewed and were placed on hold? How would you have gotten accepted already? From my understanding, there is no hold movement until March. Then, you either get placed on waitlist or get rejected.

Yeah. Interviewed and got put on hold. Then I got a call today. I don't know how. I don't work there. And I'm not asking any questions.

what?

You guys done neurotically punching holes in credibility, or do I have to snow on somebody?

I interviewed there recently. The student interview was interesting. We talked about an obscure portion of my AMCAS experiences from six plus years ago for about half my interview.

I found my acceptance a little before 2pm (most recent batch of acceptances)...sometimes my being neurotic is a good thing 🙂 less than an hour, good luck!

Would CCLCM accept or consider a letter of intent post-interview?
